I beat it, getting all trinkets. :)

It was fun and well-made. Parts were humorous, and the room names were well-chosen.

Just one thing: you can get the last trinket, and then just touch a spike, and you'll go back to the last checkpoint without having to go through all of the rooms again. So I 100%ed the level... but I guess not how I was supposed to. :P

CAUTION: You are going to hate this level. Seriously, if the level's creator himself hates it, you'll hate it as well.

"Spike Hell" is a 5x1 level featuring pretty much... spikes and death. You don't know how many gazillion times I've had to edit it to make it easier to get it how it is now. There was originally a trinket that was used as a hint as to what to do in one of the rooms, but I decided it wasn't needed.

It took me a few days to make, and I believe my best run had over 400 deaths.

I save frequently. Losing data is something that you should be paranoid about, and so for whether I'm making a custom level in VVVVVV, a custom level in Super Meat Boy, a custom level in Jumper 2, a custom level in... anything else, or even making my own game, I always save frequently. If you're making your own game, especially with a program such as Game Maker or something similar, I would recommend actually creating backup files frequently, too. But that's a little off topic. ;)

1) Music is disabled with M and Sound is disabled with S.  I don't remember you mentioning this anywhere, but it would have explained why my music randomly stopped sometimes and I had to restart VVVVVV - I think it was just toggling while I was writing scripts and using the letters "M" and "S".  It would be beneficial to write this down somewhere in one of the walkthroughs.  If you already did, my apologies.
So that's why my sound kept quitting. I thought it was another glitch like the time trial restart music glitch. :/

I just decided to take a break from making and playing levels and thought I'd do some time trials. Being obviously as out of practice as I am, I ended up restarting a lot using enter. That is how I discovered that when you use enter to restart a level in time trials, the music stops. I've tried this in multiple levels, and the result is the same.

I feel proud of myself for being the first person to discover a glitch... lol.
