For those of us who use Mac, could you possibly make a habit of putting [1.1] or similar at the end of level topic titles that are 1.1-only? I would appreciate being able to tell without looking in the topic whether a level will run on my computer. Just a suggestion; I don't mean to sound needy or whiny.

1.1-only? ??? Did you mean 2.1-only?

Levels should be backwards-compatible, there will be no level-breaking problems if 2.1 commands are used, unless there's say/reply with more than 5 lines.

Just adding more information to what Dav999 said.

In say commands, the color parameter* is ignored and all text boxes will be gray and centered.
The commands map(on/off)* and squeak(on/off/crewmate/sad/...)* will be completely ignored, but I think that never causes level-breaking problems.
Say/reply commands with more than 5 lines will show internal scripting in the text box (instead of the text itself) in 2.0., but I think that doesn't make VVVVVV crash or anything.

*See more info at the "Script commands index and tips thread" in this board.

Yes, I meant 2.1. Thanks for the info.

Wait, does that mean that they did release 2.2?

I use Mac a good part of the time, too. Just download Windows 2.1 and use WINE!

FIQ

Levels should be 2.0 compatible if not otherwise stated.

You can download it here

Actually, I have Macports (http://www.macports.org/), and I used that to install WINE. I'd go with aLaserShark's method first, though. But if that doesn't work (like it didn't with me), try Macports.

... I *meant* VVVVVV 2.1 Windows. I have WINE already.

You need to have VVVVVV 2.0. for Windows first.
Then install the latest beta patch (there isn't a stable version). It's in here.
If you don't have any way to get 2.0 for Windows... then I think it's impossible.
