Fun Things To Do: Messing Around With Tiles
« on: April 19, 2017, 09:22:13 AM »
I was messing around with custom tiles the other day and found something really cool / trippy you can do with tilesets.

First of all you use one of the game's original tilesets (attatched at the bottom) and drag one of them into the graphics folder in your VVVVVV folder. If you don't have a graphics folder just make one.

Once you have done this, rename the tiles to a different tileset. e.g. rename tiles2 to tiles3.
This confuses the game and makes it load the wrong tiles for different areas. (tiles is used for the space station, tiles3 is used for the tower and tiles2 is for everything else)

Here are some images of what could happen:

To return your game back to normal just delete everything in the graphics folder.

found a bug like that, requires invinciblity - break the leftmost break platform in V (in the final level), then at the same time flip and go to W, you should end up in House of Mirrors, go to the teleporter, boum u break vvvvvv

No, it doesn't confuse the game, you're technically changing the tilesets, the game still loads the correct things.

Like if the ships blocks is in space station's place, it would load where space station is, which is now the ship tileset.
