i think the fancy stuff should be allowed, since this is gonna be exposed to lots of people who don't normally follow custom levels and it'd be fun to show off what's possible

speaking of which, if you're new to custom levels (or haven't participated in a long time) and wanna try making something, Dav999's external editor is a lot more stable and fully featured than the built in editor so it's a nice tool to have: https://tolp.nl/ved/

My own take is 'anything goes', but I appreciate you thinking of others. Another thing to consider is that with the source release, it might be OK to distribute an entire pre-modded version of VVVVVV now?

i think im gonna just make mine with custom assets because im an artsy farsty (but i will include a detailed installation guide)

actually, I've got a question: what does "Etc/GMT-7" mean? does it mean 7 hours behind GMT? ex. if its 10:00 in GMT, it'd be 3:00 in this time zone?
