Size Matters

Ok, maybe it’s not as complete as it, er, didn’t look. But it is starting to take shape! I’ve posted a quick non interactive proto, which sorta gives some idea of what I’m going for.

Think maybe I’ll give it another day. Maybe two. It’s been a while since I tried to make an RPG.

  1. Yaaay! It looks so happy ^^
The music is awesome, really fits the theme. =D
Also, that is the coolest visual representation of growing/becoming stronger I have ever seen in RPG’s up to now, Awesome! =D He does however grow too big to hit the skeletons after some time and just smacks the air above ’em… XD
So, is it now just an RPG or is it still for the competition it was meant for in the beginning? ^^

  2. dude i love ur style it’s amazing … but i have a Q… do you use any engine in making this game? i know that u use flash… but i am sick of programming everything from zero.

  3. Have you ever considered going to the circus?

“Ladies and gentlemen, I give you… Terry! The man who can juggle dozens of projects at a time!”

It must be hard, but that’s kind of how I work too.

  4. Heh. I’m not sure why I’m like that. I get easily sidetracked, I guess 🙂

Anyway, while I think this is shaping up to be kinda interesting, it’s gonna take more than a few days to do properly – so I’m gonna leave it until after I finish VVVVVVVV, I think.

Feras: All I use is a pretty lightweight framework I wrote earlier this year, which just adds a lot of basic stuff like a preloader, entity handling and basic display code. I spend the first half an hour of any new project just copy and pasting stuff out of other games, heh. If you’re looking for something to speed up development, I’ve heard that the new flixel library is really good.
