I’m no longer looking for any applications. Thank you!
I’m currently working on a game for an unannounced event this summer, and I’m looking for a musician! Ideally, I’m looking for someone who’s really good at writing melodic, ambient music. Here are a few pieces that I’ve been using in the game as temporary placeholders:
B.L. Underwood: Fraenum
I’ve looked into creative commons music, and I’m open to using existing music in the game if it fits, but ideally I’d like to find one person to create a new soundtrack to help me get the feel of the game right. It doesn’t have to be exactly like the placeholders above either; I’m just looking for someone with a style that suits the world I’m trying to create.
If you’re interested in helping out, please get in touch, and we can talk a bit more about the project, your rates, deadlines, and so on. My email can be found here – when emailing, it would be really helpful if you could include a link to your portfolio, and maybe point out a couple of tracks in it that you think might suit the mood I’m going for.
I’m sorry for being so cryptic about this project – hopefully next week I’ll be able to talk about it a bit more, once the event’s been announced.
By the way, if anyone else reading knows of anyone who might be suited for this, feel free to point them to this post – and I’d love some recommendations for people to look into in the comments!

Terry, have you tried actually contacting the artist whom you reference? You might be suprised at their answer!
Check this guy out, he signs in on his MySpace once ever few days. https://www.myspace.com/557418086
Maybe Helen Trevillion? She did the “The Strange and Somewhat Sinister Tale of the House at Desert Bridge” music for Jonas.
You might also want to check out Stian Stark. I’m not entirely sure if his style would fit your game, and I don’t know what he’ll want in return, but who knows. I’ve heard his music in a couple of games and it’s some of the best VGM I’ve heard. https://www.stianstark.com/
I actually love his music; I considered asking him 🙂
what about the guy that did the music for Escape From the Underworld?

The soundtrack is there on the page and it is AMAZING. The composer’s name is Prophecy and he used to be a big name in the VGM/VGRemix community until he disappeared several years ago. But Banov said on his blog that he’s back and making music again as of just a couple weeks ago. Banov should have his contact info.
I wish I could make awesome music just so that I could find out more about this game before everyone else does.
Have you considered HyperDuck? Dunno if they’re any good at this style of music. They did the Iji soundtrack. https://www.hyperduck.co.uk/
Oh my… You’re the one who made Don’t Look Back! I played it last year and was absolutely stunned by how amazing it was. I’m a starting musician myself, Here’s an example of my style:

It’s funny how I stumbled upon your blog; I read that Notch of Minecraft called you his idol. 😀 (I’m a Minecrafter, lol)
But anyways, feel free to check it out!
I came across your page after going through the minecraft website randomly. As someone pointed out above, you’re apparantly notch’s idol! Anyway, my brother and I do some post-rock here in central Texas and haven’t gotten the chance to do a project since our last one a while back with some church friends. I absolutely adore mogwai and i’ll have to look into dawn’s stuff, but I’d love to send you an email with some new tracks I might lay down soon!
