Happy new year!

Here’s a little thing I started for Ludum Dare which turned into a bigger thing and… well, you’ve heard this before. It’s a survival game about programming robots to help you colonise a planet. (Er, maybe I need to start thinking smaller for Ludum Dare.)

Was hoping to get it finished this side of 2015, but that’s not going happen. Ah well – it’s looking like it should be ready early next year!

  1. Sounds really interesting. Hopefully the automated helpers help prevent the tedium of resource gathering that usually comes with these crafting survival games as well as the inventory management nightmare that I usually create for myself in the process.

  2. I need to play pico8 shooter!!
    This looks great too.
Can’t wait for all of it. New years resolution to just start on small games and programming this year, just for fun. Trying to develop a music system, possibly for games, which renders permutations / variations in pre-composed melodies, and also the instrumentation and arrangement. As the music plays, it evolves in time – perhaps in response to the player – variations are part precomposed, part chance, and part influence of the player. I also write music for a couple bands in NY and horrid TV advertising. I hope to get involved in a second game this year – my first being a game called Qub on iOS.
Anyway my point was just, please bring us your fantastic programming projects this year. Thanks for your philosophy towards that – it inspires me to get started.

  3. Looks absolutely beautiful, and very ambient. The UI on this looks really sexy, so good job on that. Kind of reminds me of Notch’s “Minicraft” LD entry, theme being “Alone,” as I recall.

You can finish this one Terry! We believe in you! Best of luck on completing this!
