Video Policy

Recently, I’ve been getting a lot of emails about this, so here’s an official statement:

“Can I make videos of your game, and can I share/post them, and can I monetize them?”

Yes, you can! I give permission for anyone to make videos of my games and share them freely, for any purpose. You are also welcome to monetize them on youtube and other sites. I really appreciate it when people take the time to play my games, and to tell other people about them.

Also, if you’d like to use screenshots in a publication, you’re also welcome to do that.

Feel free to direct other people to this page. If youtube or any other website requires me to add some legalese here or to clarify something, let me know and I’ll do it.

If you want to use MUSIC from VVVVVV or Super Hexagon in a commercial context other than accompanying footage of the game, you’ll need to talk to Souleye/Chipzel about that. Details in their statements below.

If you make a video about VVVVVV, like a lets-play, review, or similar, then you are hereby authorized to use the music and monetize the video as you please. This is from 16th Dec ’13 and until further notice.

For the music on its own, like a music video, compilation video of songs, playlists etc: You (whoever is reading this) are free to use the VVVVVV OST in any video that is NON-PROFIT. I would also appreciate an email about it, so I can see what you’re using it for, but it’s not strictly necessary. I also would like it if you credited me and link to somewhere in the description. If you want to monetize, shoot me an email explaining the situation.

And here’s a statement from Super Hexagon’s musician Chipzel:

I (chipzel) give permission for the Super Hexagon Original Soundtrack to be used alongside gameplay footage of Super Hexagon on Youtube and other video sharing websites. Please be so kind as to include full credit and a link to buy the EP Thanks!
