The easiest solution would be to uninstall LÖVE 0.10 (I can tell by the error message screenshot you have 0.10) and install LÖVE 0.9 instead.

Ved works with both 0.9 and 0.10, and 0.10 just has some higher system requirements.

Ved gets updated regularly, so it would be better to just make the download page work. Can you access it over non-HTTPS?

Also, you're kind of opening yourself up to spam mails by posting your email address in public.

No, Direct Mode is called Manual mode in Ved.
