Bizarre forum glitch!

I've been trying to post something, and I keep getting this message. It seems to be triggered by something in the message body (perhaps a tag?) that the forum "can't" handle.

It's probably special "fancy" apostrophes/quotes (are you on Mac/iOS and is it automatically changing apostrophes and quotes as you type? This also alledgedly happens to people copy-pasting from Word), emoji, or accented characters. The forum needs to be switched to UTF-8 mode, that will probably resolve this.

just copy paste that into google docs, and then copy paste it back here

This problem shouldn't happen anymore since the forum was updated a couple of months ago. I don't think Google Docs would've helped.

Also, you're responding to a post made 2.5 years ago, and you've been doing this more often (you're even responding to several posts from 2012). We don't really have a hard rule against thread bumping, but please don't let it become too disruptive!

It's probably better to not respond in that case, or to only do it very rarely/for good reasons.
