For some reason the custom tiles and music didn't work on my end. Not sure why. I have the assets folder in my Documents/VVVVVV folder, so I'm pretty sure they're in the right place. EDIT: Oh, I have to place the contents of the folder in VVVVVV for them to work. It might be worth specifying that better in the readme.
Awesome level, by the way. A bit of an issue, though. If I killed myself in the room with the rapidly changing title, I was no longer able to complete the level. I assume because the warp script as you leave only activates once? Actually, on second thought, it just isn't activating for some reason? Or is there even a warp script? Do I just need to leave the room at the right time?

The start is decent, but the room(s) with the "constantly teleport to another room" gimmick cause problems with the exit. The script boxes that cause the teleport must be modified so they stop teleporting Viridian once he gets close to the exit (making sure Viridian ends up on the right room, of course).

I tried not to make it too big (to prevent "a million deaths is a statistic" syndrome), and it couldn't be something that already has significance (13, 42, 666, etc.) Beyond that, it was arbitrary.

I still feel like this is how levels should be done: original with a ton of effort put into them, clever scripting and overall knowledge of the game. I mean, they don't all have to be like this, just normal levels with basic scripts can be great as well. But it's really refreshing to see something different, especially when it's this spectacular.

Most of the levels that actually do that are mostly short levels that aren't levels (if you know what i mean).
Yours is an actual level with difficult obstacles, so might as well reward the players with stars somehow.
Dimension Á and most other internal scripting levels have you rescuing.

Tried in VVVVVV 2.3 and didn't hear Pipe Nightmare at all - it was just silent all the way through the second half. All the other sounds and graphics were in there normally. Is this a known bug?

Is there anything printed to the console?
If I had to guess, it's the way that the custom track was made, using a pretty primitive method where the track is concatenated on to the end of the file and then wrangling the metadata (don't remember the exact details; this was 2016 after all). And then my guess is that it's failing some check.
Can confirm via Ved that song 15 is "cut off".
We also discussed this on Discord for Summer Spooktacular back in May (search term "fb38668"), we should really make VVVVVV ignore this error and print something to console instead of considering the song invalid.

Did you read the discussion? The bug in that case was that Summer Spooktacular's track had a size that went past the end of the file. As a result of that, I committed 0f45e0c52 (https://github.com/TerryCavanagh/VVVVVV/commit/0f45e0c52e5eddca9f17d94948f5cb0453b428d2), which does exactly what you suggested.

Yes, but I was not talking to the vast majority of people. I was talking to uugr, who could be knowledgeable enough to access the console. If it was an average player, I wouldn't have asked.
I'm extremely flattered to be have reached the vaunted heights of "potentially knowledgeable enough to access the VVVVVV console", but unfortunately I've never seen it and have no idea how to access it.
In any case, the custom track of Overdose is working fine in 2.4.
uugr DMed me on Discord about the music in Tempel van Hond not working, and in that case, for some reason all the size values in the headers are 0, and for some reason, 2.2 somehow handled it in such a way that the tracks played. I don't know how it does it, and I don't know if there's any ill effects from having a size 0 (probably; this is 2.2 after all). I also don't know how I managed to produce such a music file with size 0 values in the first place, and don't remember what tool I used to create the music file. (It was probably a self-compiled version of the binary blob code that Terry released and that FIQ later fixed up.)
