Everything else / Re: What do you call this again?
January 28, 2012, 11:44:21 PM
Man, I feel a little bad that I accidentally forced the characters into a certain personality when I made those emotes.  Now, on this forum, Violet will always be angry.  That's no fair to Violet.  I just wanted to make a bunch of emotes using the characters!

VVVVVV Tech Support / Re: how do you spawn terminals?
January 21, 2012, 06:59:44 PM
Oh!  I don't think that is possible.  The crewmates always stand with "down" at the bottom of the screen.  Even in the main game, there's only a brief moment during the Secret Lab cutscene where two of them flip.  Oh, and I guess Victoria is an exception.

thank you soo much
how do you change the direction a crewmate is standing?
You don't determine which direction the crewmates face in the editor -- while playing, they always turn to face the player.

We don't have a current mac build, sorry :( It's still in testing... Sorry, need to poke Simon again.
Ah, alright.  Will the level I make in 2.0 be compatible with people who've patched?

I can't find a post about it on your blog or in this forums:  Is the 2.1 patch available in any way for Mac yet?  What's contained in the patch?  I'm sure there's a post that explains it somewhere, but I hadn't even heard of 2.1 until I came here looking for level-editor instructions a couple days ago (I'm making a short VVVVVV level, which I've been meaning to do for ages).

I've come to realize I'm still running version 2.0 on my Mac.  Is there any way to upgrade, that I've missed?  I haven't been following the forums very well.  (Which I feel a little guilty about, since I'm still a moderator.)

Nice. I would wear a shirt like that.

Maybe Terry should look into merchandising? (Maybe not.)

Niice.  Fun!

The Brass: how do you do those?  Especially the playing-as-a-fish thing.

Isn't one of the main points about Steam that you can use your Steam games on any computer?  Can you just install Steam on the other computer and play it that way?

Aah, found the Complete Minigame List, which I had forgotten about.

I'm surprised I forgot about CB², Blind Faith and especially Quarters since it was so recent.  I haven't seen any of the others I listed because I've never looked much at Klik of the Month and Glorious Trainwrecks.

Radio Silence was really swell, and I think Vegetable Game deserved some attention that it never got.

I was surprised how many of these that I've either never encountered or somehow forgot!
Oneiric, Win Conditions, Table Quiz, Horse Melting Game, Envy for Lucky Sally, World's Most Dangerous Accordion Player, CB², Blind Faith, and Quarters: none of these are ringing any bells.

Hah, that was one busy little spambot. Deleting all her posts (the profile specified "female".  I didn't know bots cared) has had the side-effect of leaving your post about shoes completely out of context.   In fact, now you're the one turning the topic to smart deals on great products!  Again!  I'm forced to conclude that you're the spambot.

I can't seem to find a control to "ban" upsidu, though.  Do you have this power SoulEye?

VVVVVV / Re: Viridian in Super Meat Boy

Apparently a few people have already unlocked Captain Veridian, while Team Meat's poor lone programmer is desperately trying to keep up with all the bugs.  (Luckily, PC means he can upload a patch whenever, instead of having to wait a month for approval like on XBLA).  Veridian is reported to have some bugs right now, but he'll definitely be working by the time I've ever unlocked him!

ouuuuch.

Watching you display near-superhuman reflexes on the gravitron, then die to it anyway, has definitely shown me I'm never gonna beat it.  I hope you do, though!  Good luck!

Wow!  I'm impressed you're considering this!  It would certainly be a swell thing.  When you finished VVVVVV, the significance of the game seemed very different than what it turned out to be:  It was your last shot, but it turned out to be your breakthrough.  I'd recommend you get one or two more "major games" behind you before attempting this, but it sounds like that's already what you're thinking.

I totally understand, though, that months of work mostly doing invisible background coding could very easily not feel worth it.
