Title: A game I'm working on
Post by: cmpgk1024 on September 30, 2012, 03:25:53 PM
Hi guys,
I've been working on a game called The Almighty Bob's Neverending Adventures and I thought I'd post it here so you guys can try it. You can download it here: tinyurl.com/tabna (http://tinyurl.com/tabna) (download a stable version) or watch a video of it in action here: http://youtu.be/r-JGsJEZl1E. This game is by no means finished, so I'll continue to update it. Features planned for future updates are:
Hats!(you buy them with points)
A pause button(this is almost done, but it's really glitchy)
Storymode(this is really almost done, all it needs is a story :P)
Giving the "win door" a point(go there to keep your points so you can buy hats)

Anyway, that's my game. Give it a try and tell me what you think!
DISCLAIMER: Neither the engine or the art are mine. They are from a template from Main Campus Camps.

How can you download the mac version? Seems like it's a folder :victoria:

I don't actually have a mac, so I'm not sure. :-\ I just told flash to export for the mac and that was what it gave me.

Maybe you can put both versions in seperate zip files and upload them to the forum as an attachment!

I put it in a zip in the stable 2.1 folder. You should be able to download the zip and then unpack the .app.

It works now, and I'm trying it out. I have some feedback:

-I think you should make the player red whenever he gets hurt, now you have to look at the health bar all the time.
-I think you need some time to get away from the robots, in other words: a few seconds of invincibility after you get hit.
-Attacking doesn't work sometimes, he just stands there with the hammer up in the air if I press space
-If you press space multiple times in a row quick enough (that means 3 presses per second) you won't hit anything, you have to wait (maybe this and the thing above are related to each other)
-Maybe it needs a bit more variation.
-I think it needs a high score counter, and perhaps a level selection screen.

Furthermore, interesting concept, and I think that if you take this feedback, it will be a nice game! :viridian:

Oh, and was that sliding effect when you hold space and walk intended? :D

I didn't make the engine, so I'm not sure. It was probably unintentional.

These are both now implemented in the upcoming update!

Fixed!  :viridian:
The update will also feature music by my friend Wilson. http://soundcloud.com/digital-brony/tracks
You can try these features out if you download TABNA v24 from tinyurl.com/tabna (http://tinyurl.com/tabna). It's not a stable version, so it's sure to have glitches(make sure to turn storymode off, and press p while playing to see a crazy glitch! EDIT: Nevermind, now the coordinates set after the pause just doesn't work).
