For many years now, Viridian has ventured through many dimensions, each with their own objectives.
Each with their own people, their own missions.
Yet for all of these years, Viridian has has one objective. Saving his home.
Now, he has a way.

Demo 2.0 has been released! Installing it is a bit more complicated than a normal VVVVVV level; instructions are in the readme. 000000 is in ongoing development, so if you find a bug or issue, simply report it here; don't post your own fixed version. That means you, Shiny.

Does this use a custom texture pack just like my levels do?
if yes, does it use a custom sprites.png?

Currently the only modified file is tiles2, which I used to create the Dimensional Core and the white Lab tileset. Custom sprites are planned but not currently implemented.

I'm considering releasing a beta for this purpose, but it's WAY too early in development for that right now; I just have most of the opening cutscene and a bit of the first area done.

Custom sprites are planned but not currently implemented.
Please tell me there is not going to be any villi sprite edits. (I like the crew with ":3" faces!)

Yes. You'll have to put any files also modified by the level into some other folder when playing it.

As I mentioned in General Discussion, I lost computer access for a week and a half, halting development. As I've now regained access, development can restart. Once the first level and openening cutscene are complete I'll post a demo.

Level 1 is now complete, but 000001 isn't quite ready for demo release just yet. Once this issue (http://distractionware.com/forum/index.php?topic=1758.0) is resolved and the opening cutscene is finished you can all get a taste of 000001.

EDIT: Dav999 helped me fix the keycard issue, so I'd say the demo will be out by the end of the weekend.

It'll most likely be over a month before Demo 2 comes out because of a SECRET THING, so in the meantime I'd love to hear any feedback on Demo 1; so far all I've gotten are reports for the Central Computer crash. Anything from level design to visuals is welcome!

Many of you are probably wondering where 000001 is going from here, and why you haven't heard a peep out of me for nearly three months.

Truth is, making two levels at once ended up being too much work. Therefore, development is halted until tOLP2 is released. Additionally, when Demo 2 is released, it will most likely be the last demo, because after the point where that demo ends, some plot twists start to unfold that I'd rather not reveal before the final release. However, after Demo 2's released, I'll start releasing more screenshots and trailers, which will hopefully be a decent compromise.

Hehe, I lied. THREE levels are too much work, two is fine. Now that Dimension SIMPLE is out, development has restarted. The "Demo 2 is the last demo" thing still holds true, though.

??? I could have sworn I fixed that in the last update! For now, just go into the editor and add a few blank lines to the end of the script until I work out a real fix.

I'd put graphics packs in different folders to swap out as needed.

Does it occur when you try to load the level, or when you use the terminal in the Central Computer? The latter bug has been fixed.

I changed the title for two reasons: partially so that it would be more consistent with the name VVVVVV, but mostly so that I could do this.

And here's a new area, the Prison Complex! It centers around one-way walls.

I've found that, with a few exceptions (like Dimension Funtime), most custom VVVVVV levels tend to be rehashes of levels in the main game, like the Laboratory and the Space Station. I aim to use the new graphics modding feature to its fullest in order to make each area truly unique.

For know, I'd love to hear any sort of feedback you have on these screenshots and Demo 2.0. So far all I have is "it doesn't crash".

And yeah, I don't have much to give you other than "it doesn't crash," because I don't play player levels as much as I should. Sorry.

Here's a look at some more stuff I'm developing! Well, for a given definition of "look"... You see, this time I'll be posting not screenshots, but rather music I plan to include in the final game! This particular tune is the overworld theme. If Terry doesn't make a music packager before I release the level, I'll just release the music somewhere separately. In the meantime, enjoy!

The tune itself sounds incredibly reminiscent of the Dark World theme from A Link to the Past and "An Underlying Problem" from Shovel Knight's OST. Like, the melodies are almost the same.

In terms of sound, it reminds me of the tracks from CCCCCCCCCC. What'd you use to compose it?

There are a couple of measures similar to "An Underlying Problem". The main melody sounds a bit like the Dark World theme, but quickly goes in another direction...
I never heard the CCCCCCCCCC soundtrack! I composed the music with Renoise. I did the best I could to create a feeling of adventure, so I suppose that's why it ended up sounding like Shovel Knight.

I've never had Make & Play crash from custom tiles, though enemies stopped hurting viridian when I tried to apply the custom tiles.png that turned the "V" into "0" (as seen in a screenshot I posted earlier). I'm not sure why they're so glitchy...

The plan is to finish it as a standalone game, which may or may not come to fruition. I'm fine with you expanding on the concept (what I have planned is most likely different from what you do), but I'd prefer if you used a different name.

Nice level so far! Just got the 4th trinket. Only one bug (not even a bug, just a typo): In the Central Computer area, the room with the pink squares (I forgot what it was called, it's the part where you bounce between two gravlines), the roomname says "Cetral Computer" instead of "Central Computer".
