Title: Gamestate 2000
Post by: Yolotroll101 on April 21, 2018, 01:52:13 am
When using this gamestate, will it save in a slot for the main game, or will it use the ceustom level saves? (main game slot = save option while playing the main game, and custom level saves = the save option in custom levels that saves the spot :viridian: was standing and creates a file that has the name name as the level)

only main game since it was not intended to be used in player levels

i feel like small questions like these should be asked on the discord server but thats probably subconscious shilling

hmm... so is there a way to do a custom level save via commands? If so, that would open many options to me for levels!

If Terry is ever active again (cuz idk if he is, i havent seen him post anything ever) he should update the game to add that. It would open up a lot of things, mainly being able to make the game quit and going back in you are in a different room or something.

I'm unlikely to add anything new to VVVVVV at this point (it's six and a half years old now!), and any updates I do in future will just be to fix compatibility with new operating systems, and things like that. Adding new features to custom levels (e.g. custom PNG minimaps, tower levels, fixing behaviours like how cutscene bars work) would branch the game into an old custom map format and a new custom map format, creating compatibility issues, which I really don't want to do!

What I *could* see happening are additions to the map editor that don't break the current map format - like, it'd be cool if there was a switch to allow internal scripting that automatically took care of implementation in the background. That sorta thing!
