a level that plays itself. inspired by the DDA levels from N-Game, hold left as soon as the game starts and watch captain viridian very very dangerously get himself through the level!

This level is just a proof-of-concept for the idea, and I'm planning on making a much bigger level.

the concept could also work without any input! moving platforms, conveyors and gravity lines provide more than enough movement to make some pretty intense DDAs

footnote: DDA stands for Dont Do Anything

ENJOY

Wow. Surprisingly, it works well - I held left and didn't die!

But the design of the room is a little, eh, messy - single tiles?

But, nonetheless, interesting concept.

Indeed! There's a short section at the end of one of Souleye's levels that does this. (Though this approach is interesting too)

Thanks! Regarding the design, I agree it doesn't look very pretty, but as I said before it was just a proof of concept really.

Ooh I'm going to have to find that one :)

This was pretty cool. I remember N quite fondly, so this was a neat throwback. The only problem I found is that "as soon as the game starts" is somewhat hard to determine. Is it as soon as you start loading the level? Is it when the screen starts to become visible, or when the wipe has finished and it's totally visible? It took me several tries (restarting the level entirely) to get this to work, but when it did, it worked well.

IF you were to tweak this level (no obligation, just a suggestion), might I recommend another room where you walk left into a warp which takes you to the current start position so everything always lines up (timing-wise) with the start? It's definitely a cool concept, and I can't wait to see the larger version you have planned!

Oh no, your completely right, I didn't consider loading the level to play when i was making it, and only realized afterwards. I will definitely have an "entrance" room on my bigger level.

Hopefully nobody missed the fact that the first screen of the Final Zone in my level was a DDA  :D

I remember that! I was like, "OH NO, SPIKEZ!" and then it just moved me along past them, and I was all, "YAY! ;D"
