VVVVVV / Re: Piracy

There is a difference between someone offering their game for free and pirating it, I agree, and from your perspective it makes sense. For me, the difference is quite the opposite probably because I'm more prone to buy something from someone if they give it out for free because I feel I can support that ideologically.

And justjoshb, well, what can I say? Whether I'm an anarchist or not doesn't matter now does it? I only brought it up to demonstrate that pirate ideology is not one-sided and in Sweden the pirate party have members who are both communists and super capitalists! I don't see any other way which the world can be run than with free information: without hate, mistrust, lack of progress and inequality!

I have made my point though and will not continue the discussion as I do not deem it very productive. :)

"Free your mind" and the next room (forgot the name) - Matrix

They work as a tip -- you just have to press "right".

That was so creepy when I tried it out and it actually worked! As I understand it there was no collaboration between terry and the room-namer, right?

Other Games / Re: Favorite Distractionware game

I voted pathways for nostalgic value (first game I played by Terry). My intellect tells me I should vote Judith, my rebellion nature tells me not to vote VVVVV and my time spent in front of the screen tells me Self Destruct. ^^

People, some pirates do pay for the work of others, as I did for Terrys. As for people who buy the game and share it, well, my motivation is simply that I believe it is up to others if they want to pay or not for something. A libertarian republican view can be applied to support this view:

... but it doesn't have to. Myself I'm an leftist anarchist, the ones people in the US are afraid of when refering to the "Coming insurrection".  :vermillion:

For another view from a fellow indie game make, Jason Rohrer has a page on free distribution:
