VVVVVV / Re: Audio Mod Help
December 16, 2011, 10:39:08 PM
Update: Got it!
Turned out it was a metadata issue. I can't pinpoint exactly what field had to be changed, but I used MetaEdit to make sure all values matched the originals. The issue seemed to be that my files had metadata in fields where the originals had none at all. Just thought I'd post this for anyone else who might try modifying game audio files.
I'll be sure to post a link for the sound mod when I'm finished.

VVVVVV / Audio Mod Help
December 16, 2011, 04:44:27 AM
Hey guys. I'm try to finish an audio mod for VVVVVV. I've re-made all of the SFX. I'm running the game on a mac.
So far I've been able to discern that most of the original SFX are 16bit 44.1 kHz mono .wav files. My thinking was that if I made my own files with the same name, length, and properties they would be correctly played back in the game if i simply replaced them in the "package contents". Well, I did just that and it doesn't seem to work. There are no SFX when playing.
I was hoping you guys may know something I might be missing. I'm not to savvy on modding games. My only other thought is that its some sort of Mac package authentication issue. Maybe it can recognize that the original files aren't inside the package anymore.
