Super Hexagon / Hexagonest Difficulty
« on: December 13, 2012, 10:39:59 pm »
I only got this game 3 or 4 days ago, but I like it. I'm finding Hexagonest harder than both Hyper Hexagon and Hyper Hexagoner, and not just by a little bit. Is that how it's supposed to be? I am steadily improving at both the Hypers but I'm struggling hardcore on hexagonest to the point where I'm not even sure I'll be able to do it.

I can see myself beating both the Hypers I have unlocked though.

VVVVVV Levels / My Last Level: Dimension Funland (V 1.2)
« on: December 06, 2012, 05:55:35 am »
Dimension Funland

This will be the last level I create, so I hope people enjoy it.

Length: Same as my other two levels, so short to medium length.
Difficulty: Medium
Beta Difficulty: Hard

You have to rescue  :verdigris: and   :violet:

There are 8 's

Please play it and post feedback. There shouldn't be too many bugs, but let me know if you notice any.
Here are some screenshots (from beta), enjoy!:

Dimension Funland (New Version)
Version 1.0: (Downloaded 4 times)
Version 1.1: Made a lot of tweaks based on feedback (all to the effect of making things less frustrating). Added a "riddle" to a certain room to (hopefully) make the room easier. Took out a bunch of unnecessary spikes. Took out a some enemies on various rooms to make things easier.  Labeled the two routes "A" and "B" to show the recommended order. Route B is still much more untested, and may need tweaks. (Downloaded 10 times)
Version 1.2: Made YMBTTTE easier based on various suggestions by removing some enemies. Also removed enemies from Ring Toss to make it easier, and removed an exploit from Alien Encounter.

Dimension Funland Beta (Hard Mode):
Version 1.0: (Downloaded 5 times)
Version 1.1: Made a couple of tweaks, fixed a wall glitch (downloaded 13 times)
Version 1.2: Renamed it to Beta version, because it is much less polished now than the newest version.

VVVVVV / How many hours have you logged in VVVVVV?
« on: December 01, 2012, 02:56:23 am »
I have the Steam version so it tells me the exact amount of hours I have played VVVVVV. I only got the game 2 or 3 months ago and I have already logged 152 hours  :o  :o  :o  :o  :o. No doubt a large chunk of that was spent in the level editor but still...

VVVVVV / What Typical VVVVVV Obstacles do you struggle with the most?
« on: November 16, 2012, 11:03:43 pm »
I mean obstacles that might be easy for others, but harder for you.

Some people probably really struggle with conveyor-based challenges. I'm sure there are others who have a tough time with bouncing gravity lines, or quick hopping on disappearing platforms.

I personally randomly struggle with these type of challenges:

It seems so easy, but I have a tendency of running too far or not running enough. The one in this picture isn't so bad, but the really extended ones with this style give me a tough time.

VVVVVV Levels / My 2nd Level: Survivor Type.

My Second level is relatively short/medium in length.
I would say average difficulty (relative to other player levels).

You have to rescue :violet:, :victoria:, :vermillion:, :vitellary:, and :verdigris:

There are 10 's

Please play it, point out any bugs I missed, and give me some feedback. Thanks!

VVVVVV Levels / My 1st level: The Jaunt.
« on: October 21, 2012, 11:22:05 pm »
I'll give a brief description of my level.

Story: Your friend Victor has entered the Jaunt in a quest to discover it's mysteries. You know something has happened to him, so you jump in after him in order to save him. As you explore the Jaunt, you find progress entries that Victor has made and left throughout the Jaunt. The farther in you get and the more entries you read, it becomes increasingly clear that something has gone terribly wrong with Victor...

Length: It's relatively short to medium sized. There are 25 rooms.

Difficulty: I think the level is challenging, but I wanted to make it fair in some ways to compensate, e.g., there are a lot of checkpoints. I would say it is easier than Golden Spiral but harder than the main game (but easier than veni vidi vici).

Style: Each room is it's own self-contained challenge (for the most part). You can't really backtrack to previous rooms, but you won't need to. It is not a maze, so you will always know which way to go (again, for the most part). There are only three trinkets. I have played through the map several times, and I think I have caught most of the glaring bugs, but of course it is possible some have alluded me.

Disclaimer: I finished this map before I started heavily browsing the forums, so unfortunately, I was unaware of the single tile walls being frowned upon  :-[. Sorry about that, but I did try my best to make things not look ugly otherwise.

So please play the level. Point out any bugs and please give me feedback and/or general advice. I hope you enjoy!
