Ok. If i understand right, you should see:
The room name and a empty, black room with stars background.
If yes, head right (left if the room on the right is wrapping around horizontally) and you can explore the external rooms!
They're just like the normal map on Dimension VVVVVV.
But they're unused.
Way to fix the 2nd glitch (solution discovered when i tried the reset glitch)
1. Find a teleporter.
2. Find another teleporter
3. Teleport to the other teleporter.
Now you can see the main map.
If you have something different than this, i can't help you
