So, I have read your replies and already I have seen someone make a point to me about all of this. I will show them here and try to answer the questions the best I can:

Sorry for being so vague about it. To tell the truth, I'm not exactly sure how this game could turn out, so the first two questions I don't know. For gameplay changes, I'm thinking of making it a semi rpg, where fights do happen but it's not really a main part of the game, mostly it's open world like the original. For additions, if I could, I would try to lump a bunch of dimensions into one giant game. More specifically, a timeline of some sorts. Correct this if I'm wrong please: home world of villis, VVVVVV, Switchback, Back to VVVVVV, 333333, Dimension Open.

And then I got a reality check, not for the player levels becoming the game, but for the game itself;

Greetings, fellow children of Souleye. I have made this post to tell you of a plan I have, which is why you may been drawn here, whether out of curiousity  or by word of mouth.

  I have a plan to revive VVVVVV, hence the name of this post. Yes, a rebirth of this beloved pixelated game.

  But, I am only one person with two friends helping me, and we are too young, with no supplies. We can't do this on our own.

  I now reach out to you to help make this a possibility. If you wish to join us in our quest to light this flame in the void of VVVVVV, please leave a gmail in the replies below so I may add you to a google doc, where a list of ideas are organized in a way that you may add whatever you wish. If enough people decide to make this dream a reality, I might even start to post the list here and clarify some things as well as take suggestions.

  If you have reached this point, thank you, and please consider this game idea. For now, have a montage of villis
