Minesveeper 37
An 8 by 6 tile board containing a total of 8 mines. Are you able to find them?

This level starts with a bit of casual VVVVVV gameplay in order to randomize the positions of the mines.
You can download the level from Heptaveegesimal:

0/10 this level is impossible. Ice spikes block the way and you cannot avoid them.

Wait never mind they don't kill you . . .

Some interesting puzzles. I need to get back to this level to figure out some of the other trinkets.

Only one part where I got stuck on for an extended time for my first time playing.
I ended up asking Dynaboom if it was impossible, to then solve it on complete accident before even getting a response.

Most of the outside areas make for a neat relaxed experience.

The platforms took some getting used to and caused me a few deaths, but not just in this level but in other contest levels I played afterwards too, when I kept walking off of platforms, having to get used to normal platforms again.

The story speaks for itself and I don't want to spoil it here.

Looking back at it and having checked for some secrets in Ved this is a great level with some really interesting mechanics.

For me some of the early parts where way too hard (perhaps just a skill issue) and with me wanting to avoid invincibility mode as much as possible, those got really frustrating. But thinking back to the level as a whole and assuming that I would have just skipped those way sooner, I see no issue with the level otherwise.
I do think though, that generally there is a bit of a danger in putting the most difficult part right at the start in pretty much anything, in regards to how it may lead to a lot of early frustration and less willingness to overcome following difficult areas.

Regarding the big question "Was it worth the wait?"

I disagree with this being a relevant question. I don't think that levels (other things too) have any obligation to justify the time they where in progress. It's to some extend interesting for how much effort went into something. What's going on in your life I can't know. How much time you have, what projects you want to work on and what you want to do with them should be up to you. How much would I even expect? What could I do in that time? Do I need to do more for some time to justify doing less at another time. I doubt that would be the right approach.

Was it worth the wait?
The answer doesn't matter, it was a good level.

Just wanted to say, that this level was really fun to work on.
I remember being quite indecisive if I should join the contest at first, I guess it wasn't the worst decision.

Elomavi and I have both made Developer Commentaries for Vespera Scientifica.
You can watch them here:
And here:

Or you can check out This Playlist with both Developer Commentaries and some more Vespera Videos.

I plan on setting up a mirror page with all the downloads, in case any of the files ever go down. Once I do, I'll just edit it in here.

I probably put far too much effort into this very short level. This is my first level where I did internal scripting!

Download it here: heptaveegesimal.com/resources/phps/Download_File_By_Id.php?id=14

I strongly recommend to not play any other levels with the custom graphics of this level.

2023 Edit: Changed the http to https links!

For a while I thought this one ended in an infinit loop instead of a game crash.

This level probably has the highest impressiveness per playtime ratio out of all v6 levels I have played so far.

The first time when I played it I completed it after the third time of talking to Vermilion. After that I went back into the level to try other options.
In the end I wished this level would have been a bit longer. But for what the level did do, it did it incredibly well.

If "The Grand Majestic" was made for the joke level contest instead.

This was an incredibly hilarious level and unless you are bothered by the swearing a must play.

You made a great level even though you had adjectives forcing you to make a terrible level. When I played it I found a shortcut at some point and had a genuinely hard time telling if it was intentional or an accident, since it did fit perfectly into the theme of the level. Since you also did it in your video at 8:34 I'll assume it was intentional.
Gameplay wise I really liked the I, II, III Line Section near the end of the level.

I could have totally seen this one winning the contest.

Also it makes me happy that your team really liked the one adjective I submitted to the poll "scattered".

As the third person that worked on this level I feel like commenting here as well.

So if you are reading this and you haven't played the level yet, you should probably do that instead.

Also this was really fun to work on!

Truly a masterpiece!

It reminds me of the time when I had friends that also played Minecraft.
