Hm, only thing I can think of right now is a bug in VVVVVV's own editor where hitting escape while creating a terminal or script box causes the wrong entity to be removed. There was also a bug in an older version of Ved where, under very specific circumstances, entities in the level might not be saved, but that only happened when deleting the first entity in the level file and if the stars were aligned in a certain way. And only if you were using a version from before July 2018.

So, other than that, I don't really know what's going on without a more precise description. If you can reproduce it yourself, it'd be nice to have a version of the level file before and after the fact, and what exactly you're doing in which editor before it happens.

Ok, this is the straw.

Pattoo has caused enough disruption before with his pushiness, which I'm still seeing.

As mentioned above, pattoo has also posted a modification of someone else's level before without giving credit, just like he did here. There's not even a mention which level it is based on, despite clearly being a "remodification".

So, that's it, pattoo is getting banned now, but not just for this - I'm mainly taking into account the disruption and annoyance caused thus far, including when he would post new topics as previous ones were getting locked, and refusing to accept when other people didn't want to do the things he asked.

I'll leave this level up for now, I don't think there's really a point in removing it when the replies to this topic are obvious enough.

It's not normally possible, but I think there was a documented way to do it if you use the same coordinates as the main game and use a bit of scripting (as far as I remember: look for "destroy(platforms)" posted by FIQ)

It's a bit more complicated and requires a bit of internal scripting.

You're trying to jump to a script name with a space in it, ifflag (and others like iftrinkets) doesn't support script names with capital letters or spaces. Try renaming "active purple" to have neither.

How did you try it, exactly? There's a lot of steps we can't tell if you're missing them here - simply createentity() without anything between brackets isn't going to work. The createentity command outside of internal scripts is also not going to work.

Members can set themselves as hidden in their profile, in that case their name won't show up in who's online, but they'll be included in the count of hidden members instead.

"Unknown action" doesn't mean much. It's just the who's online list might not account for every conceivable page in the system, the forum's developers might've forgotten to add an obscure page to it, or something was added by a modification.

Welcome to the forum!

The only real rules on this forum are to use common sense (don't misbehave, don't be a headache, don't make nonsense posts, and nothing's wrong, probably). We don't forbid swearing (unless it's excessive, of course) and we don't forbid posting links either (unless it's unwanted advertising). So you don't have to report posts for containing one swear word or a link!

That said, some things like posting twice in a row or bumping old topics for no reason is commonly frowned upon, but much of it falls under common sense, and we can always tell people.

Actually, ifflag is an internal command as well, it just loads scripts from the main game, so it's mostly useless compared to customifflag.

Terry has already said he doesn't want to introduce new features that break levels in older versions of VVVVVV and make people have to update if they still want to play levels. All things you listed would cause that.

However, he hasn't completely abandoned VVVVVV, there have still been updates for stability on newer systems and such, and some features were added.

I just realized I'm a doctor on my 3rd day here... that just proved i type too much  :P
Part of the reason for that is that you just made four posts in a row again

The internal commands list needs some other updates too, it's just that the list is duplicated in several different places in different formats, and I want to make a way to edit that list at the source (a database) instead of making lots of changes in 3 different places. I just haven't gotten around to that yet.

The number before each entity name is the type (t), then for each entity (except gravity and warp line) p1, p2, p3 and p4 are listed.

Less than 3 hours.






This was the official alpha 1. You could click tiles to cycle through them!

The development process was pretty open, so it's a bit hard to say what the "first" version was as you probably have in mind, since I released versions throughout the entire development process; each version became more and more usable. You could look at the release dates for the first "alpha" (see above), "beta", and "stable" versions, though. Everything's on the download page!
