VVVVVV / CURSE YOU TERRY!

I officially hate you.

For future reference, always close the game using the menus; it won't save properly otherwise. CCCCCCCCCC has the same problem. Once (on Mac), I quit VVVVVV using Cmd+Q instead of the normal way, and it didn't save my Super Gravitron time.

***END QUESTION 1***

Question: As far as where they are found (not where the teleport), which two crewmates are the closest to each other?
Answer: Vermilion and Vitellary, a mere two rooms apart!

Score:
The Brass: 1 point

***QUESTION 2***

Name all rooms that gradually change color. Rooms such as the Super Gravitron do not count because the changes are instant.

VVVVVV / VVVVVV Quiz
December 16, 2010, 01:50:03 AM
I'm not sure if this kind of thing is allowed on this forum, but if not, I'd be surprised.

This is a "VVVVVV Quiz of the Day" game. Every day, if I have time, I'll post a quiz question related to VVVVVV. The first person to answer correctly gets a point. If nobody gets the answer by the next day, I'll post a hint instead of another question. Scores will be kept. Prizes may eventually be awarded.

So, here's the first question:

As far as where they are found (not where the teleport), which two crewmates are the closest to each other?

That sounds strange. My best guess is that you're trying to set it to a word like "left" and getting an error that "left" isn't recognized. If so, you need to put quotes around text if you want to set something to it. If you could copy and paste the error message, that would probably help me.

Also, if you join this forum, you can get help from more people than just me: http://gmc.yoyogames.com/

How does it crash? Is there an error? If so, what does it say?

I'd be glad to help you with variables if you tell me what problems you're having.

Check sprite isn't an action. I meant that you should open your change/set sprite actions and check to make sure you're using the right one.

VVVVVV / Re: Stereo VVVVVV

Well, it would be fine with me, but red/blue stereo wouldn't be too hard to do either and could, in fact, be included as a separate option in the menu, were Terry to do this.

No, Fraps is not allowed because it is an external program. The only program you may use is VVVVVV itself.

There's a bit of a problem with the arrow keys if you hold down both at once. I would suggest either a) adding key tests in the key release events (they're in Control I think) or b) changing the key press events to key hold down events, removing the key release events, and instead of setting the speed, directly modifying the position.

If you press left/right while Viridian's head is pointing down, his sprite flips over, but the gravity doesn't. Check when you set the sprite he uses to make sure it's the right one.

Also, once this is finished, it shouldn't be hard for me to make a Mac port, if that's fine with you.

VVVVVV / Vii Remote
December 05, 2010, 07:52:36 PM
Well, here's something I bet nobody has tried before: Using an application called DarwiinRemote, I'm controlling my Mac using a Wii Remote. It's hard to type with the onscreen keyboard, though.

There, now I'm using the laptop keyboard. Much better.

Anyway, so I've been playing VVVVVV with a Wii Remote and a huge TV. It's pretty awesome. :viridian: I even got a V rank on Space Station 1 with it!

So if you're complaining about no Wii version, get Bluetooth support and a Wii Remote keystroke emulation program. It might cost less overall than getting a Wii version of the game. Heck, it might cost nothing. :P

Digital watches are not allowed due to the "electronics" rule. Analog watches can be used, provided they do not provide more detail than seconds.

EDIT: And after merely hours, The Brass has figured it out!

You are still free to participate, but unless you're Terry, you'll only get the song if you figure out a different method from the one The Brass used. Good luck!
