Yeah, I know. Ironic, isn't it?

Also, I finally got the V rank. Yay!  :viridian: :viridian: :viridian:

While trying to get a V rank on Space Station 1 (I have it down to all trinkets, under par and 1 stinking death on Trench Warfare), I flipped at the wrong time on Trench Warfare and the platform went through Viridian's head, passing behind his eyes, until it passed him and he died above.

As far as the bounding box bug, that gives me a sneaking suspicion that Terry changes it in the Gravitron to make it easier for us ... hmm ...

EDIT: Found a minor discrepancy. The Super Gravitron sign at first calls it the "Super-Gravitron," then "Super Gravitron" like everywhere else.

EDIT 2: While doing a Warp Zone time trial, I flipped out of This is how it is and somehow ended up in a red room, where I promptly restarted the level (maybe I died, I can't remember). At first I thought it was Take the Red Pill, but under further examination of the map, it might have been That's Why I Have to Kill You, making this a HUGE potential shortcut. I wasn't able to reproduce it, though.

Also, doing a Tower time trial with Flip Mode on results in music glitches.

VVVVVV / VVVVVV: My Experience
November 11, 2010, 03:03:27 AM
Well, I finally got around to playing VVVVVV.  :viridian: So here are my comments:

-It seemed easy at first, until I became overconfident and died on Traffic Jam. Continuing, I got the first couple of trinkets (I may have saved Trench Warfare until later, I don't remember) and went on.
-The Laboratory was pretty easy, considering that I had already played it in the demo. I got Purest Unobtanium on about my third or fourth try (I had gotten it before in the demo).
-Then, knowing what the other levels are, I scoured the entire map until I found the Warp Zone, which I wanted to play next. I skipped Edge Games' trinket after trying a couple of times.
-The first intermission went all right. Not as I Do was a bit hard, but eventually I got it.
-Then, I tried The Tower (ignoring trinkets for the moment) and beat it pretty easily. The second intermission was okay; I'm not too good at the Gravitron, but I did just fine.
-In the Space Station (2), I decided I wasn't even going to attempt DTTHW until later.
-Finally, in the Final Level, I did pretty well in PanicRoom, sucked at the part with the four planes in The Final Challenge, and took a while on W. Dial M for Murder was easier than expected. The hardest room for me, surprisingly, was Timeslip.
-So overall, I beat the game in under two hours, with, I'm not sure, somewhere around 900-1000 deaths.
-Then, I looked for the remaining trinkets. I finally got DTTHW on my 708th try (I subtracted, not counted). Edge Games wasn't as hard, but it took me a while as well, and it was the last one I got.
-In the Secret Lab, my best Super Gravitron time is around 7.6 or something like that. I, after many tries, got an S rank on Space Station 1 and am working toward a V. Driller seems kind of easy now, as does Brass Sent Us Under The Top.

Onward!  :vermillion:

Oh, and: overall, DEFINITELY worth the $5. Every penny. W00t.

The actual program is only 100 kb -- it's the music files, most of which are 1-2 MB each.  :vitellary:

@Robson: O_o That would be great! (Honestly, I didn't really realize YYYYYY had a graphical editor -- I thought it was just more convoluted text editing) Just make sure you know enough about the CCCCCCCCCC format. If you have any questions, I don't mind if you post them here.

Also, there's no Mac support and probably never will be, but keep in mind that the game works *almost* perfectly under WINE (the main difference is that the graphics kinda suck).

CCCCCCCCCC

This is my demake of/sequel to VVVVVV, inspired by YYYYYY, which was in turn inspired by VVVV, etc. (Yeah, it's kinda convoluted :viridian:)

The plot is an original expansion on the original VVVVVV plot, and the game takes place pretty much immediately after VVVVVV.

The soundtrack is (mostly) original (there's one remix of a VVVVVV tune and a tribute to Michael Jackson). All of the music is included with the game as .ogg files, but if you want to add the music to a library or MP3 player, the soundtrack is being released separately, as FFFFFFFFFF. It can be downloaded at http://www.mediafire.com/?z5tnqyzkfmr or http://rapidshare.com/files/394458789/FFFFFFFFFF.zip.

You cannot turn on invincibility mode when you are playing no death mode.  That is, if I remember correctly...

Is THAT how some people have beaten the game in no death mode?  :vitellary:

Side note: In Invincibility mode, what happens if you're too slow in The Tower?

VVVVVV / Re: Spike-counting contest
May 10, 2010, 10:21:18 PM
I have only one comment:

:verdigris:

Also, a few questions:

1. Are we limited to a certain number of guesses?

--> You have 3 guesses!

2. Are we limited to a certain number of simultaneous guesses?

--> You can do 3 simultaneous guesses in one mail, so long as you only guess once!

3. Does "VVVVVV" mean the game or the place? The ambiguity makes it unclear whether spikes in the Polar Dimension are to be included.

--> Ok, "VVVVVV" pertains to the levels in the game, overworld included. Only count standard spikes (not V-shaped formations or words like "SPIKEs do!" etc.

4. Can you tell us the margin now, so that later you can't claim it's 1 spike when we were expecting something bigger?

--> No!  :vermillion: The margin is at the discression of the judge(s). But rest assured that I'm not evil. Just jovial.

When the iPhone supports Flash (not if -- I'm hopefully confident), you'll be able to play it -- if a bit awkwardly (since you'd have to use the WASD on the onscreen keyboard). Maybe Terry can make a touchscreen version when it does...

Or maybe he could port it? (Nah, that might be too hard.)

Just keep waiting and someone will make an iPhone demake ... You'll see  :vermillion:
