If you have to slow your level down to test it, then you're probably making a stupidly hard level... :victoria:

I suck at VVVVVV.

Whenever I make hard levels I usually place checkpoints half way to see if it's beatable by someone better than me.

But otherwise it's a fun game.

Well, that's not really a reward? Technically? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Alrighty, I just played the other 2 and I have to say that they a very cool, for the second one 10/10 :viridian:, the third one 9.99/10 :viridian: (I took off 0.01 because it was so fricken hard but it was still good). These both had awesome room names, my favorite being Quadrilateral Justice, nice job, keep it up!

Glad you enjoyed them!

Rescue on Polaris is probably my favorite out of all the levels I made. :P

Trials 2 will probably involve dumb 'Dark God' humor, tons of trials to rescue random people, and false escape routes.

Nice level, 9.6/10 :viridian:
Loved the level, and ironically safety is the last thing in the level.

Thanks!

And yeah, it's called Safety First because of the story and the concept - just like Viridian in the level, you can do the challenges, but they don't reward you in anyway, and they don't reward viridian either.

I played the first one, nice work on it though! 9.6/10 :viridian:
I'll review them tomorrow.

Ah, I've been considering working on a sequel to Trials (the first one) rather soon.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Hmmm, I suppose the level's plot is a bit 'stale'.

However, it's more meant to be a philosophical kind of thing, the plot is there to facilitate the 'do you want to do the challenge or not' concept, so I didn't think too much of making it very interesting. Sorry about that!  :-[

Insani's Review #2

Concept: 9/10 - Original
Visuals: 10/10 - The mirrored things were pretty cool, nice designs.
Difficulty: N/A
Fun: 6/10 - Pretty cool concept, but not very fun, most of the crew's challenge is just trying to fit into that tiny hole
Room Names: 6/10 - Mirrored names don't make for interesting titles.
Dialogue / Story: N/A

General Rating: 7/10 - Cool concept and nice designs, but all the flying around waiting to be able to flip again so you can land on that crew member's cell kind of killed it for me.

(Note: The general rating is just based off of how much I enjoyed the level and it's aspects as a whole.)

FFFFF

I Noticed that right after I finished it - but it only seemed to happen when you were going at a REALLY steep angle or just fooling around, and fixing it would require either walling up the top (which would look weird) or putting the gravline down, which disrupts the text.

For now, just... don't bounce around the grav line, or something...  :(

I'll be releasing an updated version in a while... with fixed grammar in some places and maybe the top walled up. :\

VVVVVV Levels / Safety First - By Insani

This is a concept / experimental level. Inspired by Blue's Adventure, it a bit philosophical?

It tells a bit of a story, a story about an empire, where the government has an almost fetishistic desire for safety.
A massive gravity line surrounds their planet, nobody gets in or out, no more citizens flipping into space.
The only unsafe feature of this insanely safe world - pits. Any safe man would avoid them.

Entering a pit is entirely your choice. Each pit is challenging. You get no reward for completing a pit, and neither does Viridian.
You do the challenges for the challenge - there is a safe path leading to the end, requiring only three ^ jumps.
You have no reason to do each challenge. You get no reward. All you get is a challenge and a portal back to the main path after you finish.

This level features no terminals or scripts - the story is conveyed through room text, to keep the style of the level going.

Download it here.

VVVVVV Levels / Re: VVVVVV Level Editor Tutorial - Part 1: The basics

Hmm, that's peculiar...

I'll run my own test of it, and post the results.

EDIT: Okay, I ran my own test of it, and it had the same results: nothing. I guess iftrinketsless is broken or something. :-/ The only option seems to be to use the basic route - use iftrinkets.

Damn... I suppose I could change the trinket to an 'easy mode' option.

EDIT:

VVVVVVMAN is the best command in the game.

You put "iftrinketsless" - if you want it to activate when you have 1 trinket, put:

Code: [Select]
iftrinkets(1,destroywarp)
end

Also, "destroywarp" should look like this:

Code: [Select]
flash
destroy(warptokens)
end

Exactly, I want the warp to be destroyed if you have no trinkets at all - the trinket triggers a difficulty mode.

I'll try rearranging flash and destroy though...
