VVVVVV Levels / Re: "A New Dimension" by Souleye

Speaking of the new songs, get them onto your youtube account, Souleye :viridian:

All I recall seeing is the "Max Confidence" Rock Band preview but never the other one before, it was a pleasant surprise for surviving that long through your stage (got 100% on a blind run, I was dedicated).

Trinkets, at the moment, are for bragging rights and personal satisfaction.

Otherwise, nothing right now. Terry doesn't have completed levels have saves like the Time Trials, so it's all driven by your own desire for shiny things (at least for the time being).

Actually, if you put the maps in the My Documents>VVVVVV folder, they show up in the list fine, no editor required.
Then I guess I've been doing it wrong

If I'm not mistaken, you should be receiving the .vvvvvv files from wherever you downloaded them. Once you've put the files into the proper directory, open them up in the level editor (Main Menu>Player Levels>Level Editor) and you should be able to play them. Sorry, but you cannot add them to the main lineup, that's for Terry to take care of.

Also, for the blue section, was I supposed to be able to just go left immediately when the path forks and squeeze through those moving obstacles while traveling backwards on the conveyer belt? It takes some precise timing as to minimize time spent being slowed by the conveyer belt while still fitting through the small gap they make. It was a pretty difficult shortcut but I felt accomplished once I got through. On my blind run, I thought that was the only way that I could progress since I couldn't see how I'd fit through that gap on the right-hand path, that was also the last crew-mate I saved, so I didn't get a chance to explore the rest of the blue section just yet. Correct me if that was intended.

This is one of my favourite levels. But the level "We must perform a  Geelfakriug" (One of the first levels in the  Abandon hope section) is impossible. I'm not just saying that because its hard. I tested it in level editor with no enemy or spikes (apart from the top) and no matter how much you hold left you will ALWAYS land on the spikes on the top. Apart from that great level and i hope to one day finish it :).

Here's a hint, you're not supposed to go up there until much later. Just head out the left-hand side of the screen, eventually you'll loop around and find that the drop leads directly to a crew-mate. :viridian:

Vertiginous Veridian
"No, not again! The crew are gone. Now Veridian must
navigate a strange new tight-knit dimension."

That text should really read the following:

"No, not again! The crew is gone. Now Veridian must
navigate a strange new tight-knit dimension."

or

"No, not again! The crew members are gone. Now Veridian must
navigate a strange new tight-knit dimension."

"Crew" is singular and verbs should be conjugated accordingly. If you wanted to maintain the same conjugation, then the subject of the sentence must be made plural. Not a big issue, but it annoys me a bit.

For some reason I'm not seeing a download link.
That's because it's already included in the game. From the main menu, go to Player Levels>Play a Level>Next Page>Vertiginous Veridian

Dying at the same time that Captain Viridian touches a deteriorating platform will result in the platform disappearing once he respawns (provided that the checkpoint is on the same screen). This can be seen in this screenshot; I died where the missing platform is, all of the other platforms respawned except for that one since it was in the process of disappearing.

This happens with gravity lines too, but they only flicker and make a sound; Captain Viridian is left unaffected. There are cases where he will momentarily be flipped but it is corrected when he spawns.

VVVVVV / Re: VVVVVV demakes and fangames
July 28, 2011, 11:16:58 PM
Not really a full-blown demake, but a friend of mine is working on a mod of a different game and one of the classes is inspired by VVVVVV.

Video demonstration (complete with VVVVVV music)

Funny story, the mod is of a demake. So we've got a fan-made homage using a fan-made demake of Team Fortress 2

If anyone's curious, I'm one of the programmers working on the base demake that this demake is based off of. Cue the Inception jokes.
