Wow is this level brutal  :vermillion:

I got to Painslayer 3, and after 181 deaths (total so far and 45 in the first room x.x) I took a break, maybe I'll do better tomorrow
VVVVVV Levels / The Tower Revisited! (Scrapping it)
July 30, 2011, 06:05:41 AM
I think i'm just going to scrap this project, I haven't worked on it in months  :victoria:

Thanks to the positive comments I've received with Under Wraps, I decided to start working on a new level, simply called "The Tower Revisited!"

Still a Work of Progress, but I'm curious of any ideas the community could help me with, because I'm now starting to get a little bit of Writer's Block  :victoria:
Also really not trying to make it similar to my previous one.

edit: Beta Released! One crew mate and three trinkets so far...  :viridian:

Update: Beta 0.2

-"Step it up" I moved the gravity lines out thinner, (4 blocks instead of 3) Now makes it less dumb luck and more skill
-"Spikes... I hate Spikes" Added a checkpoint, but I don't think jumps need to be perfect, but indeed skilled. if there are more problems, I'll remove some spikes
-"Warp Fields Stabilized" (totally not a reference to Starcraft) Added more room to make that jump and added a checkpoint
-"Dead End?" Removed the check points due to they were being pointless

Yay Kurosen acronym user!

Rating #006
Enjoyment: 8/10
Aesthetics: 6/10
Novelty: 5/10
Difficulty: 3/10
Room Names: 3/10

I enjoyed this.  It wasn't very hard, which is fine with me.  A few RAE's here and there; I found one that Kurosen didn't find (attached).  The leetspeak room names didn't appeal to me but someone had to do it, haha.  I liked your scripted cutscenes as well especially the last guy (blue one). :D

I did find more than those two, but I didn't want to post more of his level up to the forums, gotta keep some surprise for others :P

Let me start by saying this is a REALLY good looking level.  You made a lot of neat looking stuff that is very unique.  However the difficulty fluctuates absurdly.  Security Room 001 is by far the hardest room, and it's what, the fourth room?  Took me at least 100 tries to get past, and I almost gave up.  Other than that though, the level is really enjoyable.  I like some of your rooms gameplay-wise, especially "Suspense" - very neat and fun.  Add at least one checkpoint to Security Lock 001 and it'll be golden in my book.

Status: 100%'ed

Hmm, If i do get more complaints about that part, I'll lessen the enemies, but there is a checkpoint right outside that room  :viridian:
Actually one thing I haven't figured out in the game is Scripting, could you show me how I could handle those texts I have in the game to make them scripted?

edit edit edit: content removed
Okay, I noticed some things too as soon as I uploaded it, so I'm gonna go fix them. this is why I need some bug testers :P
OMG I'm been featured! I'm so honored  :viridian: :viridian: :viridian: :viridian: :viridian:
