This belongs on VVVVVV Tech Support, but for some reason there's no "New Topic" button there.

When I open VVVVVV sometimes, there's no sound, and pressing the mute button causes the game to crash.

...anyway, im not sure how to solve this issue but it might be a driver thing? does this only happen with vvvvvv or does it happen with other programs? do you have the latest version? (2.2)

Figured it out.

I have a really old computer, and the speakers weren't plugged in, and for some reason it wasn't detecting my headphones, so it thought that there was no sound device plugged in, and told the VVVVVV program to not make sound. So when I pressed the mute button, it tried to mute sound that didn't exist, and flipped out.
