Press enter to explode!

Yeah, been searching through the executable (linux), and found this seemingly unknown string: "Press ENTER to explode". I found it in the same place as the "Press ENTER to talk to Violet" string. So... any idea what this string is for?

It activates the start-of-the-game cutscene IIRC. You can create it with createactivityzone(something) (don't remember what, Dav999 found it).

Dav999

Well, I think it's from a prototype or beta. When you see it, and you press enter, you go back to the starting cutscene.

I got it when I used createactivityzone(terminal):

But how is that teleport script cleared if the command is not used? Wouldn't that script just repeat each time you get to a teleporter or is this done with flags?

EDIT: createactivityzone(terminal) will create a zone with 'Press ENTER to explode'. :vermillion: If you press enter, you get the first part of the cutscene in the beginning.

'Press ENTER to explode' ??? I'm pretty sure it's used nowhere in the game...

When I try it now, however, it just says 'Press ENTER to activate terminal'. Weird. ???

I kind of wish this actually made you explode  :vermillion:

Maybe a creeper is the secret character, and if you talk to Violet it says "Press enter to explode" :D

Actually, no- EVERYONE of their species can apparently do it. (Secret Lab cutscene, pay attention to   and  )

I doubt it's experiments - then they'd be wearing clothes.

I'm assuming it's some kind of organ shaped like a box, sandwiched inbetween the spine and stomach.

I always assumed that a very complicated process went into the ability to flip, and that the process was made to be so quick, you could flip as a soon as you land, but it was also made so slow that you couldn't flip again while in the air.

In short, they use a velocity paradox to create a single flip, and to prevent mid-air flipping.

That's why Verdigris's spine being broken would lead to intense pain: he bruised one of his internal organs as well.

Nah. He actually broke his spine by falling off a Terminal and rolling down ten flights of stairs.

And guess who had to carry him back up to his room? The local train conductor.

WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THIS   :violet: :violet: :violet: :violet:

Hilbert

To tell you how verdigris broke his spine. :D

Whirligig

That argument is invalid, though. They're obviously pushing off the ground, resulting in a "gravity" (which is linear, meaning that it's actually zero gravity according to Newton) that carries them until the next perpendicular surface is reached, where they land on their feet with boots that give a zero coefficient of restitution. This still doesn't explain how they can strafe in midair (or how this doesn't happen whenever they walk), but that's platformer magic, of course.
