There's something wrong that's starting to happen quite regularly now. This is how it happened. WARNING. THIS WILL DELETE YOUR GAME SAVE. IT WILL NOT DELETE YOUR SECRET LAB RECORDS.
1. Go on Vertex Vortex.
2. Turn on Invincibility.
3. Get to the end with the crewmate.
4. Go to the bottom left corner, and flip.
5. You should be on a small, invisible platform. Move to the left of the edge, then when falling off, you must move back into the platform. You'll know you've done it right if you start auto-flipping in the same spot.
6. Save and leave.
Instead of arriving at the menu, you'll be in the main VVVVVV overworld. But the top screen will be black and the music will mute like when you're in a musicless area (i.e. You can hear the flip sound effect louder). You can see the map and when you are though. You won't be able the in-game menu, but if you head for a teleporter it will autosave, and you can close the game, launch it up and click continue game. If you do this, you'll be back but you can see the screen, music will play, and the menu will pop up when prompted. It will say you have rescued no crewmates, you'll have the amount of trinkets you collected on Vertex Vortex, and 0 deaths. If you go to the ship, no one will be there, the trinket room will be empty, and the jukebox room will be full.

Anyone know why? Also, please post trinket guide for Vertex Vortex.
EDIT: This method may or may not work. There may be multiple methods or it's just random bad luck. Also, I am not asking for it to be fixed. Just telling people about it.

It happens if you quit the game when Viridian is both at the top and the bottom of a wrapping room (or both at left and the right). Going back to the menu is easy, just press ESC again.

That is, if you encounter the bug on the computer. On the 3DS, the only way out is either by running a script that "fades out" and then in again (like when you talk to a lost crewmate), or by quitting VVVVVV by going back to the home menu and close it from there.

Considering that the 2nd post was posted 3 min. after the 1st, I think he did it on purpose. :-X

On-topic: I found 2 related glitches:
One when playing "Variation Venture",
One after dong the "escape the Gravitron" glitch.
Both on the 3DS.

After you exited did you appear on the lower right room of D. VVVVVV? That's what happened on the 2nd glitch. On that one it's also needed to be on the right and left of the screen at the same time. This isn't the only glitch ccaused by the fact that :viridian: is split into the 2 sides of the screens.

Sorry, using invincibility causes all sorts of issues. It's not really intended for normal play...

While that is true, the bug isn't caused by invincibility in general...

As I said, it happens when Viridian is split at the top and the bottom of a wrapping room, which can be caused way more ways than using invincibility.

Try exiting VVVVVV when placing yourself like this in a custom level with top/down wrapping and place yourself like stated above and you'll see what the people in here mean.

EDIT: Yes, in a custom level -- the bug doesn't happen in the real game.

heh. i sorta also found another gravitron glitch on 3DS to get out of gravitron.

if you flip while touching the gravity lines. you'll flip through them.
