Resolution change for the PC/Mac version?

I get these two black bars left/right of the picture. Can I change the resolution somehow? Would it break the game, if you used a different resolution?

Really love the game! It's awesome!

Widescreen would give you more time to react to walls coming in from the left and right, giving you an unfair advantage over non-widescreen players.

Not if it's zoomed in a bit. That's how it was done on the iPhone 5.
