If we had our way with map sizes...

The maximum map size for VVVVVV levels is 20x20. That's about 480,000 tiles. The approx. file size for a 20x20 level would be 2MB.

Imagine a 40x40 map in VVVVVV.
This is about what it would look like (when you use Stampy's map renderer, at least):

A 40x40 map would be 1,920,000 tiles. :o
And a level file of this size would be approx. 8 MB! :o

And an 80x80 map, like Hacker/Chillius once suggested in "Ideas for a VVVVVV sequel"?

An 80x80 map would be 7,680,000 tiles! :o
And the approx. file size of an 80x80 level? 32 MB!  :o Holy crap!

What do you think would be an ideal maximum map size for VVVVVV levels? (Definately not 80x80, for sure)

(and don't even get me started on 160x160)

Remember that the amount of rooms possible in the editor is infinite. By avoiding certain rooms that leads to segfault, you can make a working level utilizing more than 400 rooms.

Oh, and disabling the map.

We should definitely use that...

I actually think 40x40 or 30x30 would make a good map size.

Well, I'm not the kind of person who likes to bruteforce for rooms that don't segfault... You go ahead.

Bigger isn't better. Though, for doing stuff like Dav'ss PuZZles, 40x40 would probably be nice.

Then I could design large overworlds without the worry of not having enough room for the levels

I think 35x35 might be an ideal size, possibly. That makes 1,225 rooms.

We can make maps as big as we can (Or cap at something like 160x160, although people probably wouldn't need that much, unless they want multiple dimensions in a level)
