Hi, I just made a song using the Terry's tool (omg, isn't so awesome using a thing that oyu made on someone else thing to be part of a custom level on his other thing?) bosca ceoil (the symbol remembers me of souleye.. probably reference?) and I wanna add to my level. And also use others songs. Is there a way to do that?

@Kreator

Looks cool. I'm downloading it right now. And I give another +1 to the custom music idea by bumping this thread. It doesn't look like it's ever going to happen, though. Terry's last post on here was 3 months ago, and it was about the custom music thingy.

It is promising, though, that more people are wanting this. Maybe if we bug Terry on Twitter something will happen, though I imagine he'd prefer to finish his roguelike first.

Renato Lopes

wow, I just received a notification on e-mail. Almost forgot about VVVVVV.

roguelike? is him working on a new game? (the one one I've seem news about was super-something where you are a... I don't remember actully. there were some hexagons you needed to.. avoid? or enter their center or something)

Yes, I'm sure that'll work, but that'll be a job for those of us who have Twitter (not me).

Well, now you remember.

And seriously? You haven't heard of Super Hexagon?

I think he's referring to Vector Game.

Yep.

@Kreator

That site looks like a good place to comment and bug Terry about adding support for custom music.

boy, it is actually ILLEGAL to modify a program without the required permit. Actually, at least we need that, and even then we basically have no idea of how to put these musics, it involves insert them on the code and make everyone who uses the level to insert them too. It MIGHT be possible to do, but it will be far easier for the one person who already knows WHERE the music should be put into the code.

What the hell are you going on about?

Nobody brought up directly modifying programs.

The code of the game itself isn't what we want to modify. vvvvvvmusic.vvv can already be replaced with the game's resource modding feature that was added in 2.2. This has already been done with MMMMMM (an OFFICIAL album, mind you), which had a downloadable vvvvvvmusic file that could be dropped into the VVVVVV folder.

The only problem is that we haven't figured out how to make new vvvvvvmusic files ourselves, but Terry stated that he may make an automatic packager. I hope this makes things clear.

Terry

Opps, kinda forgot about this D:

I basically don't have time to make an automatic packager right now. BUT: if anyone techy is so inclined, here's the C++ code for making the blob files that VVVVVV uses for music. If you don't want to wait for me to get around to doing it myself, this is what you'll need to start from...

@Kreator

YAYYYY TERRY REPLIES TO A POST FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MONTHS

Anyway, it's okay, Terry. People forget things all the time. (hopefully this place will be remembered though)

I don't know computer code AT ALL, so... would anyone else like to try?
