Here's a very interesting problem

Okay, so I'm trying to use direct mode. I get the whole F10, CTRL, arrow keys part. However, I am on a MacBook laptop with a trackpad, which can't right click. This has already caused a lot of problems for me in the level editor, by the way. For instance, every time I control-clicked something to delete it, I couldn't turn delete mode off for my cursor. I fixed this problem by clicking things in direct mode to delete stuff, but back to what I was saying... whenever I'm in direct mode, I can't use any tile other than Tile 0. That's because whenever I hold CTRL, all the tiles appear at the top of the screen, but the arrow keys can't do anything. Does anybody have any ideas?

Hmm... Have you tried controlling it with anything else? Because this is a very interesting problem. But why dont the arrow keys work? They should...

I think the best option would be to connect a mouse to the laptop, if you can... Or see if it's possible to bind a key to the "right click" function, but I dunno if it is...

What crazya said. Besides, i use my laptop with a mouse, without it its really hard to play games.

@Kreator

I can right-click fine by hooking up a USB mouse or as Dav said, clicking with two fingers, but the fact that I can control-click is probably what's messing everything up.

Dav999

Ohh wait, that's what I get for reading too fast...

I have no idea why ctrl+arrows isn't working for you, I can use direct mode just fine on Mac. Do you have any keyboard settings that are different than the defaults?

@Kreator

I don't know, I looked for the keyboard settings in System Preferences and couldn't really find anything useful to my problem.

Dav999

And just to rule that out, have you tried restarting VVVVVV?

@Kreator

How exactly would that help in this case? I had restarted it over and over again before I found clever ways to delete things without control-clicking, though.

Hey, you never know. This has solved an embarrassingly large number of issues that have stumped me.
