Don't look back - no death/no killing
« on: December 15, 2010, 10:05:43 am »
Hi all,

I've been playing Don't look back fairly regularly since I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago. I think it's fantastic and I love how well the music complements the mood.

I've played through the game a few times now and I've decided I want to challenge myself either by completing the game without dying or without killing anything except the necessary bosses. I haven't even attempted the first yet but the second is quite fun. One problem though, I'm pretty sure one of the screens cannot be completed without killing several bats. Now I know my alteration of the game wasn't designed, and I'm not complaining at all, but:

- has anyone else attempted to complete the game without killing anything? (either succeeded or stuck)
- would it be in any way possible to work with the Terry Cavanagh to alter the game just ever so slightly to create a mode where it can be completed without shooting the minor enemies?

If you like the game I suggest you give it a shot. The point I'm stuck on is just after killing the large dog, with the three disappearing platforms and numerous bats approaching from both sides.

Awesome!

There's no way I'd redesign anything about the game at this point, but it possible to get quite far without shooting anything.

The room you're stuck on is possible without shooting anything! But it's a pixel perfect jump.
