I own VVVVVV straight from Terry's website, with the install application, etc. But I also got VVVVVV on Steam with the Indie 2D Pack (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/6915/).

I was wondering, is there a way for me to use my normal save file for my Steam version of the game?

Is everyone just going to ignore me? Or should I post this on the Steam board for VVVVVV?

Rox

We're not ignoring you! We just don't know the answer! If I had to speculate wildly, I'd speculate that.. um... since VVVVVV is a Flash game, it would usually store the same as a temporary Flash file, right? So maybe the Steam version does the same thing, meaning if you own both, they both use the same save file?

If that isn't the case, which I guess it isn't because you must've already tried that, then I guess the Steam version stores its save file somewhere in the Steam folder? But if so, I bet you can copy the non-Steam temp file over into the Steam folder, if you can find it.

See, I have no idea how any of this works, that's why I hadn't responded to this thread...

Terry

Sorry about the delay, I was travelling back to Cambridge today.

Here's an old thread about this! http://distractionware.com/forum/index.php?topic=228.msg1906#msg1906

Thanks, Terry (and Rox, too).

It took me far too long to figure out, but it works. :)
