Game not loading in OS X 10.4.11

Hello! I just got the Humble Indie Bundle and was really excited to play VVVVVV, but I seem to be having a problem getting it running on OS X 10.4.11. It seems to have downloaded fine, but when I try to open the application, nothing happens at all. It won't load, but it won't give me any kind of error message either. Or if it does load, it does so completely invisibly, and gives me no indication that it's running. It's just nothing. I downloaded it again, double-checked that it was the correct version, restarted my MacBook, but nothing seems to work. I downloaded the Windows version onto my brother's laptop, and that seems to work just fine (and made me even more eager to get it up and running on my computer so I can have time to really enjoy it!).

Has anyone else run into this problem? Thanks for your help! VVVVVV is a really great, original game, and I'm really excited to dig into it!

Unfortunately, the new version of VVVVVV is supported on Intel Macs only - which, as far as I know, means it won't work on 10.4 PowerPC macs... :victoria:

I'll have to talk to Simon about this, maybe there's something we can do.

Oh! I'm sorry, I should have mentioned it's a 2 GHz Intel Core Duo, not a PowerPC. I guess that's not the problem, but I don't really know.

Thanks very much for your reply! I'm sure it'll get straightened out somehow. It really is a fun game!

Terry

Hmm, maybe it's just your OS version, then?

I'm not a mac user, but 10.4 is quite far behind now, right? I've heard reports that NONE of the bundle games are actually working on 10.4. It might be worth updating your OS - it certainly sounds like your hardware should be able to run it.

Dan

That sounds like a plan! Thanks for your advice, and for a great game!

Just wanted to vote for 10.4 support, as I'm running a old g4 imac.

Also, Intel only? Is there some reason you can't do a Universal binary?

Thanks.
