VVVVVV: Community Edition
« on: January 16, 2020, 08:54:22 AM »
Hello! VVVVVV: Community Edition is a fork of VVVVVV that includes more scripting tools for level creators.

VVVVVV: CE is brought to you by the following people:
Info Teddy, AllyTally, leo60228, FIQ, and Stelpjo.

Some of the new things:

    - Now you no longer need to use the internal scripting exploit to use internal commands!
    - Unicode support! Now you can make levels in foreign languages!
    - pdelay(x) - A delay command without freezing the player
    - settile(x,y,tile) - Set a tile in the current room temporarily
    - playfile(file.ogg) - Play an audio file
    - drawtext(x,y,r,g,b,center) - Draw text on the screen for one frame
    - More destroy() options, including platformsreal, enemies and more
    - customquicksave()
    - ifrand(n,script) - Has a 1 in n chance of running script

And more! For a full list, see here.
We hope you enjoy! For now, you'll have to either compile the game yourself (Visual Studio will not work) or download a CI build here (note: you may need a GitHub account). You'll also need a copy of data.zip to put next to the binary, which you can grab from your own copy of VVVVVV or from the free Make and Play version.

The repo also includes a font.png and font.txt file, which you should put in your graphics folder for Unicode support.

As amazing as this is, it makes me glad that my current project isn't directly using VVVVVV at all...

So do levels made with this go here, in the main levels forum, or as a post in the "Open Source Projects" board outside of this thread?

i'd probably post them in the levels board with a prefix, like

[V:CE] Abort 12
