In a game with this much spiky death, I'm amazed there aren't more Megaman references. :o

Frankly, just about every other room has some form of in-joke. Listing them will take enough space on its own, so I'll leave that to other posters.

I must ask, though. Does the "?SYNTAX ERROR" terminal in The Laboratory serve a purpose? It'd be kinda neat to stick an Easter Egg in there if it doesn't. ;)

When Vermillion says, "Let's go exploring!" I burst out into a gleeful grin.

Damn I miss Calvin and Hobbes, even if I never read it when it was in newspapers. (I was 5 at the time of death.)

Specifically referencing the last strip in the series. That's a nice catch. :viridian:

Off-Topic, but Watterson is still around and publishing follow-ups to the series. He decided after ten years that he wanted to retire to painting; good for him, says I. ;)

That was so creepy when I tried it out and it actually worked! As I understand it there was no collaboration between terry and the room-namer, right?

SoulEye

The rooms were named after they were created so it could very well be called a collaboration.

A7A

SoulEye: Indeed, but the room-namer had do free hir mind without the help of the clue ze created in the future! It could be done with input from Terry of course. :)

Quantum mechanics room!

The Brass

Pretty much every scientifically named room in the Laboratory was a subject on the physics course I completed before Christmas, and by the beta leak, stuff like the Vibrating String Problem were still ahead. I got full points on it in the test!

Without a doubt, the best reference in the entire game has to be the one to MAVERICK BUS.   :vermillion:

Hey,

Our character becomes immediately sad when jumping on that marked area.  :'(

Well, yeah. If you use the Super Gravitron for Educational Purposes you have to stand in the Naughty Corner.  :vitellary:

StephenM3

Why would you make Veridian stand in the naughty corner?  He didn't do anything wrong.  If he used the SG for educational purposes it's your fault anyway.  No wonder he gets so sad.  :victoria:

Someone asked why there are only 5 V's sung in Pressure Cooker. This is the answer:

That's a reversed expression - an inversion if you like. Turning things on the flipside! An anti-thesis, a juxataposition, reversion. Anti-matter, Nuclear explosion. Indirect direct. A tear in the VVVVVV space-time continuum.

SoulEye

That would be it. Thanks for the visual clarification!
