VVVVVV on Netbooks

I have been getting dismal performance on my Dell Mini 9 (model 910) 1.6 Ghz Atom with Intel GMA 945 (with GMA Booster enabled for those of you who have an older netbook this is worth checking out and figuring it out which version you can use). It performed at a flat 60 FPS (or whatever flash maxs video fps at) and since the 2.0 Update it has had very low framerates. I have noticed the option to enable hardware acceleration is not there and that the CPU is working heavily. What changed in the programming to cause this slow down? Also what version of OpenGL/DirectX are you using? (That may explain why hardware acceleration is gone as the GPU only supports up to DX9c and OpenGL 1.4)

Have you tried 640x480 resolution? Unfortunately Fullscreen Auto is currently slow on some computers. We're fixing it in the next patch - have a look here if you wanna try it right now!

(VVVVVV didn't really have hardware acceleration in the old flash version - it was just a scaling mode that flash uses. On most computers it didn't actually use the GPU at all.)

Alright I am trying that now and I am also going to try the 2.1 Beta after. Just two more questions can I use the beta on the Steam version or is there something Valve does that nullifies that also is there a way to run the steam version without Steam running in the background (on my netbook I only have 1 gig of ram so I ahve to conserve as much as possible steam is made for desktops with A LOT more ram than mine and it slows my netbook down)? Also I didn't notice the hardware acceleration option was gone on my larger PC lol.
Thanks for the expedient  response Terry.

Alright I found the source of the problem. It turns out whenever I unplug the Computer the CPU automatically slows down more than likely along with other hardware such as the GPU and RAM (Since its more than likely the kernel forcing it to the lower clocks GMA Booster can't fix it because that's software level), which leads to dismal performance. Anyway it turns out that power saver mode was enabled so I just turned that off. Thanks for the help though
