A recurring theme of many rooms in VVVVVV are areas that are much simpler than they actually look. There are many rooms, spread throughout the game, that can be completed with a single button press or well-placed flip.

In this thread, I task you to share them such that others might benefit. I imagine eventually this would help anyone writing a walkthrough, and yes, there will be lots and lots of spoilers.

I will begin by stating: nearly every room in The Laboratory can be solved in a simplified manner. ;)

I would think that the best example is: if you just walk off the end in "Free Your Mind" and keep going, you'll make it over the first obstacle every time. It took me many failed attempts to work out this easy way.

Weaving through the waves of enemies in rooms like "Kids His Age Bounce" is much easier than it looks.  Time it right and it takes care of itself.

The trick in "I'm Sorry" lies in collision detection.  The game is more forgiving about dying on vertically-pointed spikes than horizontal ones.

Terry

People seem to miss this one; On the Waterfront can be crossed in one swift jump.

Wobbles

Terry is indeed not lying; if you flip from the bottom checkpoint in V Stooges and keep moving with the appropriate timing through Untouchables, you will move into On The Waterfront and bounce UNDER one of the enemies.  It's tough, but cool looking :3

Also, in Short Circuit, you can wait until all the dudes pass by, flip up, and go LEFT to the room exit.  I learned that one when it came to me in a dream.  I'm not kidding.

The best way to go through the weird maze right before Verdigris' stage is left, down, left, down, left, left (gets the trinket), down, right, down, right, right, right, down.  Alternately, you can just go left, down, left, down, left, down, down, right, right, down, and you get to the teleporter without the trinket.  I think that's right.

For Seeing Dollar Signs, you can just flip up through the middle after the little green guys bounce past without crossing.

In the cloud room sequence, you don't have to flip from crevice to crevice; you can just chase clouds up the shaft and stick to the right side.  Going into Level Complete! Just hug the right wall and you'll make it to the teleporter safely.  It's got a bit of tricky timing though  :vitellary:

You can go into Spikes Do! from Swoop if you leave at the right angle.  Do it wrong and you'll crash into spikes or lies.

In Deception (the room right before Down Under), you can get through the two hourglass things across the conveyor belts if you flip rapidly.  You move faster if you keep on flipping because you re-accelerate while in the air.

That's all my tricks for now :3
