Flip mode is broken on 3DS Version

Recently I beat VVVVVV and unlocked the flip mode ( I love the game, BTW), but when I play in flip mode, I get a blacked out game and I can't see anything (I can hear the music, Sound effects, ETC) Is it a simple glitch? Or is it something Nicalis did when porting to the 3DS?

I've seen a number of people report this. Haven't talked to Nicalis about it yet. Will let you know what the situation is when I know.
