Thought VVVVVV killed my 3DS for a second there!

Hey! I'm not sure what set this off, but I encountered a fairly frightening bug I thought you should know about.

I started VVVVVV up, selected the player-created levels and everything completely froze up. I tried pressing all the buttons and going back to the Home menu, but eventually just had to hold down Power until the system went off. Then, when I turned the system back on, all that would happen is the power light would go on, but I'd get absolutely nothing on my screen. I tried turning it off and on several times, turning it on while it was charging, pressing various combinations of buttons, but nothing worked. Then I remembered I had a DSi cartridge in, so I removed it, turned the system on again and, that time, it went on, I was able to run VVVVVV again and I could get into the player levels.

Not sure why this would've happened as I'd loaded up player-created levels several times before and I also had that DSi cartridge in every other time I did so. Incidentally, my 3DS is pretty new (I only got it in December) and, far as I know, I've got the most current version of VVVVVV as the Nintendo Store says there are no updates.

Anyway, everything's fine now, but I thought you should know about it considering for a few minutes there I thought VVVVVV had broken my 3DS somehow!  Scary stuff.   :vitellary:

are you able to make a video of it happening? this has never happened to me.

and by "that DSi cartridge" what game/flashcard was in your system?

Well it's fixed now, so unless it happens again, I can't record a video of it. The cartridge I had in was 999. Seems unlikely the game would have some specific conflict with that exact title though...

Pyrite

999? I've got no idea what you're talking about. It sounds cool, but it doesn't come up with anything on Google. [/offtopic]

that is strange. and thats not a DSi title (it has no DSi enhancements), just a normal DS title.

999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors (if you have never played this game, get it, it is one of the best DS games)

Oh yeah, you're right, sorry, normal DS game.

Incidentally, this is off-topic, but are there actual DSi game cards? The 3DS manual claims they exist but I don't think I've ever seen one. What sort of stuff could the DSi do with a game card that the DS couldn't anyway?

pokemon black/white, you can use the DSi camera when you are talking to friends over the internet.

if you want, you can looks at the NDS release section of GBA temp and look through and pick out the DSi ones.
