The V

Bearboy

there are 20 trinkets.
I counted them with letters.
ends at u.
What's after that?
V.

It's just like conspiracy theories. If you search long enough, you find a hidden meaning EVERYWHERE.
For example:
V: you pronounce it like 'vee'
If you take the letter that is most used in this word (e), and do that times the total number of letters in this word (3), you get eee
Capitalized: EEE
If you remove the lowest stroke from each letter, you get FFF
F sounds very much like V, so you can almost say VVV
These are the first letters of Veni Vidi Vici.

There. Another 'hidden meaning'.

Bearboy: Were you counting english letters? If yes, then U is the 21st letter, not the 20th. V is, then, the 22nd letter. I don't find any relation of 21 or 22 with the game, yet.

Dav999: In english, you pronounce F as "ef" (not "if"). "Vee vee vee" is very different from "Ef ef ef".

I didn't mean that 'ef' almost sounds the same as 'vee', I meant that for example 'foo' and 'voo' almost sound the same.

OK. Those are similar sounds.

EDIT:

* If we add all the years we find in the game (1954 World Cup Vinyl + Gunsmoke 1966 + 1950 Silverstone Grand V and 1942 found in a computer = 7812) for normal mode and flip mode together (7812 + 7812 = 15624 + 1 = 15625) then we get 15625 too.

Can someone tell me where's the 1942? I haven't found any in any terminal (if that's what Zerdamia tried to say with "computer") in the main game. If there really isn't any 1942 in the main game, then this isn't a meaning.

There is definitely no 1942 in the entire game. I did ctrl-F in the binary, and I found 1954, 1966 and 1950, but no 1942. There wasn't even 42 in the scripts.

2 trinkets in the secret lab
HAH!

Dav999

Those were not real trinkets, just trophies...
And yes, that was very very fast.

Did you think he counted Russian letters or so? :P Well, in Russian, the V has the third position in the alphabet. And in the Greek alphabet...

Then that wasn't a meaning. Why did Zerdamia consider it a meaning if 1942 isn't in the main game? Where did he/she found it? :o ???

I found another possible meaning:
I tried to remember the number of terminals that do something in each section of the main game:

Section - Number of Terminals
D. VVVVVV (without the sub-levels) - 4
SS1 - 1
Lab - 2
Tower - 0
SS2 - 2
Warp Zone - 1
Int. 1 - 0
Int. 2 - 0
Final Level - 1
Secret Lab - 1
Ship - 13
Total (not including the Ship) - 12
Total - 25

12=6x2, 6 is the number of Vs in VVVVVV, 2 probably doesn't mean normal mode and flip mode like I said in a previous post, so, I don't know what it means.
However, including the Ship, there are 25, which probably isn't related to VVVVVV. I wonder what's the number if I count those that don't do anything.

No, I thought that he might have counted without some letters. There are languages that don't have the entire english alphabet.

Do you really think that Terry made this game while making sure the amount of terminals adds up to a specific number? :D
Or that the amount of spikes does? (Two times the amount of spikes plus one?) :D :D
Or that it had something to do with 106/26=56:D :D :D

(Did anyone else have connection problems the past 20 minutes?)

It would be another secret. It is easy to count, considering that there are only 25 that say something.

It would be another secret. Members of this forum have already counted the spikes, so, he can count them too. Besides, look at his post on this thread. Twice the times means normal mode and flip mode. I don't know what the 1 means, it could mean nothing (read 1st post)!

VVVVVV is 56 (see 1st post), Commodore 64 is 26 (this game has the console's appearance), so, that would be another secret. However, it cannot be related to size (like I said in a previous post) because 1KB=1024B, 1MB=1024KB, etc.

Now, whhy are you laughing at me (if that's what you wanted to post, you posted laughing smileys)! :o These secrets are just like other secrets others have posted (including you)

I had problems connecting to this forum too! Probably everyone had.

Dav999

I'm not laughing at anyone, I just think it's funny that we're finding secrets everywhere, while it would be strange if Terry really meant to put those secrets in the game.

And the smileys are a bit messed up now. I have a full top bar of :o :o :o smileys, and the :victoria: smiley is a long vertical gradient bar...
