A few random thoughts on how you might want to improve this.

If you're gonna start with the "basics", you should really start by stating that VVVVVV is a platformer where the only thing you can do is move left/right and _reverse gravity_ .  You really can't talk about anything before that, otherwise a reader would have no clue what you're talking about.
Similarly, there's no point talking about the different enemies before clearly stating that _you can't attack_ in VVVVVV, and that those enemies are essentially just obstacles.

Generally, especially in an intro/basics section, you want to talk about the gaemplay in general rather than fine details. Talk about what I wrote earlier, the square room structure, the division into overworld+levels, and reserve detailed things for the actual level by level guide!

Hilbert

OK, i'll switch that into basics an room entites (or however it's spelt.)
when I made it, I assumed the people reading it already knew what VVVVVV was. :P

Perhaps a section for beginners with the basics, just like RobinSLS said, would be good. You should mention there that touching spikes and enemies will kill you (and you'll appear in the last checkpoint touched). Also, you should mention the levels of the main game and that the game area is divided in rooms. RobinSLS: Actually, they are rectangular, but that's a detail.

When talking about the crew, perhaps you should mention that :verdigris: can't flip (read the room-name of the 2nd last room of the Warp Zone).

Also, I saw that you used some imagination, you gave a name to almost all the types of enemies :o. Viridian doesn't remember the pain after he/she dies!? Checkpoints are made in D. 333333!? (Note: I didn't play D. 333333 yet).
The "gravity lines" are called "inversion planes" in the game, so, you should write that.
Why are you going to write about D. 333333? :o ??? That's a player level, made by Sendy. Is it your favorite level? Are you going to write about it because it's large and it has 20 trinkets?

In the table of contents, what do you mean by "Guide to VVVVVV"?
In the level editor tutorial, I suppose you're going to talk about scripting. It's a good idea.

I was already planning to do that :)

when you get all 20 trinkets you gain acsess to a checpoint facility
I already had that about the inversion planes.
333333 (even on easy mode) is really REALLY hard, so I thought a walkthrough would be good.
it more or less means 'walkthrough'
I will talk about scripting ;)

Bearboy

once the entire book is done, you should tell everyone to print out the pages and staple them together.  :viridian:

I'm curious of this: How did you write with the font used in VVVVVV? Why didn't you upload a text file, if you wrote in a text editor? If you didn't write in a text editor, how did you write?

VVVVVV use the same font as commodore 64 did.

Ever seen a running emulator of commodore 64? Ever seen VVVVVV's script editor? They have some... similarities :P

EDIT: ...but this doesn't use that font?

Oh, you're right. It doesn't use that font :violet:.
However, I still don't know the answer to the other questions.

I used OpenOffice draw (it has a text tool) and the font is called Miriam Fixed. although the font courier is better for VVVVVV writing

Hilbert

I'm calling off the production of the book. I lost my USB disk Somewhere in a parking lot.

:'( :'(
THAT THING WAS MY WHOLE STINKING LIFE!!!
Now I have to redo everything...

Hey, I just saw this! It's very cool :)
