(Level Editor) Fake spikes

Seriously what the hell are fake spikes and how do you place them in Ved(or the ingame editor if possible)?

I heard many ppl mention them, don't really know what they are/how to place them.

"fake spikes" are backing tiles in tiles1. They are used in the space station for spikes that are on the backing.
