What to do when starting out on distractionware!

Hi, new users! Welcome to distractionware!

I am Vultarix, one of your moderators. I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here.

Now, what should you do first? Well, I observe every topic created every day, and I can give you some advice.

1. You're obviously here to make and play VVVVVV Levels, right? As an insider on VVVVVV, I've composed a list of levels you should try.
- Overdose (tw: mild scary elements of fear)
- Dimension Open/The Open Level Project (Amazing community level!)
- Back to VVVVVV (FIQ's unofficial sequel to VVVVVV)
- Viridian to the Future (A Vultarix and VVVVVVCrewmate7 Collab!)
- Dimension Error (A long internal scripting level)
2. Make something! You can use my internal scripting resource, provided in the same board.
3. Use VED. Dav999's external VVVVVV level editor makes it easier to make levels look professional, and even comes with some extra tools.
4. If you're having trouble with something, just ask! Whether by PM (Personal Message) or by a new topic, the community and your moderator team are here to help!

Also, please do not spam, or unfortuantly the mod team may have to tempaban you, then permaban.

I JUST finished my tutorial today.

overdose was great
we know
it was also a little bit scary
but it's way too overrated
its a fucking standard, fun, good, level
the gameplay is average as is the story
the music sets the mood, sure, but that doesn't make it scarier, it just improves the quality
I dunno, maybe because I have been a fan of horror everything,
and have been making games that have horror elements since I was really little,
it's less scary? but I've asked around, and everyone agrees with me

also crazya the monologue you added at the beginning of the level is still narrative gold
if the rest of the story was like that I'd totally side with "nightmarish" and "psychologically disturbing"
but it isn't

That's just an anecdote, though; you need at least 40% of the people here to have had the same thing until I can accept it.
