It'll most likely be over a month before Demo 2 comes out because of a SECRET THING, so in the meantime I'd love to hear any feedback on Demo 1; so far all I've gotten are reports for the Central Computer crash. Anything from level design to visuals is welcome!

Well, your custom textures are really nice, and the design is... well.... difficult.

Many of you are probably wondering where 000001 is going from here, and why you haven't heard a peep out of me for nearly three months.

Truth is, making two levels at once ended up being too much work. Therefore, development is halted until tOLP2 is released. Additionally, when Demo 2 is released, it will most likely be the last demo, because after the point where that demo ends, some plot twists start to unfold that I'd rather not reveal before the final release. However, after Demo 2's released, I'll start releasing more screenshots and trailers, which will hopefully be a decent compromise.

Each with their own people, their own missions.
Yet for all of these years, Viridian has has one objective. Saving his home.
Now, he has a way.
Today, Viridian returns home.

Demo 1.1
  • Hotfix to resolve a critical crash bug in the Central Computer
Demo 1
  • Initial release
Demo 1.1 has been released! Installing it is a bit more complicated than a normal VVVVVV level; instructions are in the readme. 000001 is in ongoing development, so if you find a bug or issue, simply report it here; don't post your own fixed version. That means you, Shiny.

DOWNLOAD DEMO 1.1 HERE!
can you distribute it as an attachment? mediafire sucks, their website never works

The file's too big for an attachment, but I added a Dropbox mirror to the OP.

Hehe, I lied. THREE levels are too much work, two is fine. Now that Dimension SIMPLE is out, development has restarted. The "Demo 2 is the last demo" thing still holds true, though.

??? I could have sworn I fixed that in the last update! For now, just go into the editor and add a few blank lines to the end of the script until I work out a real fix.

Quote from: stylzm on September 14, 2014, 09:10:22 PMOh if you add any more custom tiles please dont let it inflict with the tiles2.png I am now using which I will use in the new version of my level so I can play my level and yours!
I'd put graphics packs in different folders to swap out as needed.

You thought this was dead? Nope, 000001 (now renamed to 000000) has a new demo release, featuring a new zone to explore! Go get it!

@Kreator

For some reason, my game always crashed when I tried to play this level. You think that is, or will be, fixed?

Does it occur when you try to load the level, or when you use the terminal in the Central Computer? The latter bug has been fixed.

@Kreator

The terminal part. And now that it's fixed, I got the chance to play some of your level, and I like what I've seen so far!

As promised, here's some screenshots of some upcoming content!

I changed the title for two reasons: partially so that it would be more consistent with the name VVVVVV, but mostly so that I could do this.

And here's a new area, the Prison Complex! It centers around one-way walls.

I've found that, with a few exceptions (like Dimension Funtime), most custom VVVVVV levels tend to be rehashes of levels in the main game, like the Laboratory and the Space Station. I aim to use the new graphics modding feature to its fullest in order to make each area truly unique.

For know, I'd love to hear any sort of feedback you have on these screenshots and Demo 2.0. So far all I have is "it doesn't crash".

@Kreator

Did you use a texture pack in those pictures?

And yeah, I don't have much to give you other than "it doesn't crash," because I don't play player levels as much as I should. Sorry.

@Kreator

Could you post it in my tOLP thread for texture packs?
