  1. This is great. I’ve seen a couple of Flappy Bird tributes which seem to have really unnatural motion, which (for me) takes away all of the predictability and feeling of fairness. I love the dive, and the effect when you get a new high score.
The music’s fantastic too, hadn’t heard of kozilek before.

  2. “I hate this game!” said my wife when I showed it to her. Then she played it for 10 more minute.

Do you “unlock” new obstacle sections, or is it just my imagination?

    Love it.

  3. Dude, this game is just AWESOME!
The music, the gameplay, the colors and stuff, just AWESOME!
I really think you should make this for Android and iOS (and maybe even steam!) I would play this in my phone for sure 😉

  4. 1 for Android 🙂

Also I think there should be more space from start to the first obstacle to get a chance to calibrate your brain to the movements.

  5. Very good gameplay. However, the lose flashes and background movement are VERY annoying. I feel like I’m hurting my eyes. Can you add an option to turn them off?

  6. “YES! I finally hit 50! I can finally get on with the rest of my li-”

    *next medal at 100*

Another home run, Terry 🙂 also this weird optical illusion thingy happens when I stop playing where everything starts drifting off to the right – I kind of like it! Currently at 56, will keep pushing onwards though!

  7. I’ve read that it is gonna come out for Google Play and App Store (But maybe it was just for fun?). Great Gameplay, Great Music, Great Everything! I love Flappy Bird and i love Super Hexagon! With these two mixed up, it cant get better!

  8. Ok, so, listen, flappy birds was ok. It was certainly addictive but I couldn’t call it a good game. THIS GAME IS AMAZING. Please please flesh this out more and bring it to iOS and Android (pref Android first!). I would buy this as it stands now, but would love to see multiple styles similar to the different difficulty levels of super hexagon (with more music too) (super hexagon by the way was in my top 5 games of last year, probably top 2)

  9. This was a great game. I hope that no one simply dismisses it as a flappy bird clone, because it also has a lot of uniqueness. Kozilek’s music was also amazing. I really think that this would do well on mobile. Anyways, great job.

  10. I’m really saddened it only works on your website. I downloaded the SWF so that I could throw it into Flash Projector and use FRAPS to record an LP of it but no dice. Super disappointing.

  11. Just amazing like always. Even though i liked the idea of flappy bird i criticized it for lacking good music. Yet here you make an amazing game that is so much better because of it’s style and incredible music. Very well done you have impressed us all yet again.

  12. this was fun…flappy birds was not. like everyone here is saying you can make money on this. and nayas quest for that matter why no retail versions? Thank you very much for everything you make

  13. I LOVE THIS GAME.

    Also…

    I HATE THIS GAME!!!

This game is a nice interpretation of Flappy Bird, I really like it more the original game. The game made by Dong had a nice idea in the “endurance platform” field, but the gameplay wasn’t so well balanced. Maverick Bird instead is awesome, in gameplay, aesthetics, music and overall feeling.

  14. Terry, level with us.

    Are you a wizard?

I said it with Hexagon and I’ll say it again: Please put this on iOs, I would love to pay you for this.

Well, time to send this to all my friends and then lose the rest of my afternoon.

  15. High score: 109

I had a bit of compiling to do this afternoon. (See the link in my name for proof!)

It seems that Black [100] is the highest rank. So I think this is about as close to “beating the game” as I need to be. It will still be fun to play, but much like Flappy Bird it seems the game doesn’t get faster or more difficult as you go on. There are more obstacles, but once you’ve seen them all and worked out how to get past them it’s just a matter of focus and endurance.

  16. While certainly more fun than Flappy Bird (which I tbh found pretty boring), and a decent game, i’m not sure if I would pay for it (other than solely for supporting your works in general) unlike VVVVVV/Super Hexagon. I guess your plan wasn’t to make this into a retail title anyway though.

Good work regardless, as always. Was a fun half-hour timekiller. 🙂
